Cowes is the main township on Phillip Island in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia. It is about two hours' drive from Melbourne and can also be reached by coach, or passenger ferry from Stony Point on the Mornington Peninsula. Attractions Of Phillip Island - Melbourne - Australia

Phillip Island is a popular tourist destination in Victoria, Australia, Just under two hours from Melbourne it is within easy reach for a weekend getaway or a longer holiday stay.

Cowes is the main town on the island and has plenty of accommodation options for all travelers and budgets. From caravan parks to hotel/motel style and bed & breakfast, there are options for everyone.

The main attractions on Phillip Island are the world famous Penguin Parade, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, The Nobbies and Panny's Chocolate Factory, to name just a few.

It features some excellent surf beaches too, with Woolamai and Smiths Beach being a couple of favourites. In Cowes, there are also nice swimming beaches facing north into Westernport Bay, for example Red Rocks beach. Great for fishing, boating and jet skis.

Amazing 11 Bed AirBnb in Cowes Phillip Island Victoria

This is a short review of our Amazing 11 Bed AirBnb in Cowes Phillip Island Victoria. I take a quick walk through the house with my you beaut iPhone XS Max.

This is peak holiday season in January 2019 in Cowes, one of the major holiday destinations in Victoria. It is just 90 minutes out of the capital city Melbourne and people flock here by the thousands. The main attractions are the Penguin Parade and the massive Australian fur seal colony.

We were very late booking this Airbnb in Cowes, booking it just 2 weeks in advance. Most people book 6-12 months in advance for peak season. So we paid a bit more, but still got an amazing Airbnb.
The location is in Red Rocks Road, Cowes. There are great swimming beaches within walking distance, and it is a short drive to all the main attractions.

We rate this 10 out of 10, it was wonderful to stay in this beautiful house in Cowes, Phillip Island.

Transport to the Penguin Parade, Phillip Island - 10 (Ten) Easy Steps

HERE’S 10 EASY STEPS TO SEE THE PENGUINS ON PHILLIP ISLAND, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA.

STEP 1 – Make sure you book at least one night accommodation on Phillip Island to see the magnificent penguin parade and the island’s many other attractions and spectacular scenery. visitphillipisland.com.au

STEP 2 - Fly into Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport

STEP 3 - Collect your baggage and use the SkyBus to take you direct into the city

STEP 4 - The Sky bus will take you to Southern Cross Station, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

STEP 5 - If you’re staying in Melbourne - walk, tram or taxi from Southern Cross to your city accommodation.

STEP 6 - If you’re travelling to Phillip Island - catch the regular ‘V/line’ bus service from Southern Cross Station to Phillip Island (Cowes). You don’t need to pre-book – just purchase your ticket from the Service desk!

STEP 7 - Arrive and check in to your accommodation. And if you haven't done so - Book the nightly Nobbies/Penguins Tour with Phillip Island Designated Driver.

STEP 8 - After a drive and walk at the Nobbies, get dropped off at the world famous penguin parade and see the penguins

STEP 9 - Be picked up after the Penguin Parade and return to your accommodation

STEP 10 - Enjoy the next morning (or days) on Phillip Island before returning to Melbourne by bus.
