Ventnor is a seaside resort and civil parish established in the Victorian era on the south-east coast of the Isle of Wight, England, eleven miles from Newport. It is situated south of St Boniface Down, and built on steep slopes leading down to the sea. The higher part is referred to as Upper Ventnor ; the lower part, where most amenities are located, is known as Ventnor. The island was named after Governor Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of New South Wales, by explorer and seaman George Bass, who sailed in an open whale boat, arriving from Sydney on 5th January 1798. Phillip Island forms a natural breakwater for the shallow waters of the Western Port. It is 26 km long and 9 km wide, with an area of about 100 km2 . The National Vietnam Veterans Museum is an Australian war museum located in Phillip Island, Victoria. Originally it was established in San Remo, Victoria in 1996 by Vietnam veteran John Methven. In March 2007 it moved to a larger site near the Phillip Island Airport. The museum contains a large collection of items and vehicles, including a Centurion tank, a Mark V International Harvester truck and a 105mm pack howitzer. It also has a collection of aircraft from the era of the Vietnam war, including a de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou transport plane, an English Electric Canberra bomber, a Westland Wessex helicopter, a Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter gunship, Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter, a Bell H-13 Sioux helicopter and a Grumman S-2 Tracker anti-submarine warfare aircraft.

I took a hike along the Swan Lake Trail on Phillip Island (Ventnor) in Australia. There was lots of wildlife along the hike - kangaroos, wallabies, black swans, and much more. It is located near The Nobbies and the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island. Shot in August 2017.

Venus Bay Caravan Park is conveniently located within a short drive from beautiful Wilson's Promontory, Phillip Island and the many other attractions of South Gippsland.

Only 800 meters from the main surf beach. This beach is patrolled every day during the Summer school holidays and on weekends for the remainder of summer.

The Caravan Park has a spacious layout, with power, water and sullage to all sites. Ensuite sites are also available. Both cabins and sites are set in a shady parkland setting and are suitable for either the romantic weekend away or a family beach holiday. Bike riding is encouraged within the park and helmets are essential. We can also accommodate group bookings and the heated recreation room is ideal for meetings or social events, with adjoining electric BBQ for self-catering.

Venus Bay State's longest sandpit with five superb surf beaches, choice of surf, river and estuary fishing.

For those of you who enjoy the beauty of the natural Australian bush land, Venus Bay has lots to offer. Only a short drive from the Caravan Park is Point Smythe Reserve, where there are many scenic bush-walking tracks.

There are great views of Anderson's Inlet and an abundance of wildlife to be enjoyed. Watch out for kangaroos crossing particularly near Fisherman's Jetty and just past the viewing tower, approaching Point Smythe. Boat ramps are located at Fisherman's Jetty and Tarwin Lower
