The Dingle Peninsula Ireland is a wild beautiful place

1er arrêt: Coordonnées GPS: 52°11'12.9N 10°11'24.6W
Le Conor Pass est un col de montagne situé dans la Péninsule de Dingle, dans le comté de Kerry, en Irlande. Il relie la baie de Brandon à Dingle.
Pour le traverser, on doit passer par une route très étroite et sinueuse qui longe la falaise. Le panorama est tout simplement admirable.
Nous avons fait un premier arrêt à un petit stationnement situé en bordure de la route. A cet endroit, il y a une belle cascade qui s'écoule.
Il y a également un petit sentier qui permet d'aller plus haut dans la montagne.
De cet endroit, nous avons une splendide vue sur la baie de Brandon entourée de montagnes au pied desquelles s'étend une magnifique vallée comprenant de nombreux lacs.
2e arrêt: Coordonnées GPS: 52°10'54.7N 10°12'26.3W
Nous avons effectué un second arrêt à un autre stationnement situé à 1,5 km du premier point de vue. La vue est tout autant exceptionnelle et donne sur la baie de Dingle.
Le vent était tellement puissant qu'il était difficile de tenir en place pour prendre des photos.
J'avoue que nous nous sommes vraiment amusés à observer les gens qui tentaient de photographier leurs proches avec peine et misère.

Die Halbinsel Dingle und der Slea Head Drive - Irland
Wir machen heute eine Runde auf der Halbinsel Dingle im Westen Irlands. Zunächst fahren wir an der Nordküste entlang, hinauf zum Connor-Pass mit einem Wasserfall einem darüber gelegenen, kleinen See und tollem Blick auf die zentrale Bergwelt der Halbinsel. Hinunter im namensgebenden Ort Dingle folgen wir dem Slea Head Drive. Vorbei an einem alten Ringfort bis zu den Klippen ganz im Westen mit Blick auf die vorgelagerten Inseln.
Die Dingle-Halbinsel (englisch Dingle Peninsula, irisch: Corca Dhuibhne /ˌkɔrkə ˈɣɰiːnʲɪ/, nach einer alten Stammesgruppe) liegt in Irland, im County Kerry, in der Provinz Munster. Sie hat ihren anglisierten Namen vom Ort Dingle (An Daingean), der im Westen der 50 km langen und durchschnittlich neun km breiten Halbinsel
Die bergige Halbinsel ist besonders in ihrem Westteil von vor- und frühgeschichtlichen Denkmälern förmlich übersät. Heraus ragt unter den Sehenswürdigkeiten das Gallarus Oratory, ein rustikaler Kraggewölbebau aus frühchristlicher Zeit, der wie die Beehive-huts von Fahan und das Killelton Oratory in Trockenmauertechnik errichtet wurde. Aber auch Wedge tombs (The Giants Table, Maumnahaltora und Pŭicin an Chairn), Steinkisten (Knockane), Cup-and-Ring-Markierungen, Menhire (Cloonsharragh und Ballineetig), Ringforts, Steinreihen (Ardamore) und Promontory Forts (Caherconree, Dunbeg Fort, Dunmore) sowie Cross-Slabs (Knockane), Ogam- (Ballintaggart, Coumeenoole North) und Bullaun-Steine findet man hier. Eine weitere Gruppe sind frühchristliche Kirchenruinen (Kilmalkedar und auf einer der Magharee-Inseln). Relikte, wie die Cloghane church, die Garfinny Bridge und die Pillar Stones von Kilfountan und Reask, sowie die Ruinen von Kirchen (Kilvicadownig) und Klöstern (Raingiléis), alter Burgen (Minard) gehören zum Landschaftsbild der Halbinsel. Der Hafen von Smerwick (nord. Butterhafen) hat seinen Namen von den Wikingern, die hier vermutlich einen Stützpunkt unterhielten.
Die Dingle-Halbinsel ist neben dem Ring of Kerry, der auf der südlich anschließenden Iveragh-Halbinsel liegt, der touristische Hauptanziehungspunkt im südwestlichen Irland. Der Tourismus wird durch Bootsfahrten zu den Blasket Islands, Angel- und Fahrradtouren, Golfplätze, Reiter- und Planwagenurlaub sowie Wanderrouten befördert. Touristisch interessant sind ein sehr flacher Sandstrand an der Nehrung von Inch und der Slea Head-Drive, die westliche Küstenstraße.

Sierpień 2018, Spontaniczna wycieczka zaplanowana dzień wcześniej do Republiki Irlandzkiej.
W planach miało byc tylko Akwarium i ewentulanie jedna atrakcja więcej. Na miejscu przedłuzylismy wycieczkę do dwóch nocy ponieważ z dzieciakami trzeba się zatrzymywać i wszystko się przedłuża, a to w końcu dla nich :)

By Donnchadh Ruadh Mac Con Mara (1715-1810)
In his major work The Hidden Ireland, Daniel Corkery writes with great affection of the Sliabh gCua poet Donnacha Rua Mac Con Mara (Dennis MacNamara) and places him with equal importance as the other Munster bardic schools + their respective poets: Aodhagán O' Rathaille in Sliabh Luachra, Diarmuid McCárthaigh in the Blarney School and Seán Clárach MacDomhnaill in Rath Luirc. Donnacha Rua's greatest poem Bán Chnoic Éire Óigh (The Fair Hills of Holy Ireland) was written while he was teaching in Hamburg and the poem has found easy entrance to every anthology of Irish poetry since then. He died in 1810 and is buried in Newtown , Kilmacthomas.

The photographs (slightly blurred due to a smudge on the lens) were taken during a trip by a group of about 44 Welsh speakers from North Wales to An Daingean (Dingle) in County Kerry for the 39th Pan Celtic Festival which took place from Tuesday the 6th to Sunday the 11th of April 2010:
