Koper (Istria) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Vacation travel video about destination Koper in Istria.
Koper is a major harbour city in Istria which is located on the Slovenian Riviera. The old town can be entered through the last of the twelve gates of the city’s former defensive wall. A stone coat of arms, various reliefs and inscriptions highlight the long history of the city in which for five hundred years Venetian rule shaped its destiny. An archway in the Praetorian Palace leads to a classic Venetian square, the Titov Trg which dates back to the fifteenth century. The Piazza is one of the most beautiful Venetian squares of the entire Adriatic region and the cathedral which frames the square has numerous architectural styles. Brollo, an area just beyond the centre of the city, served as a collecting basin for rainwater which was drawn by two wells from a cistern below. The Gothic, Fontico, was used for the storage of surplus grain which was distributed to the people in years of hardship. Today Koper is Slovenia’s window to the world and the country’s only seaport.

Bohinj Museum Railway (Slovenia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Vacation travel video about destination Bohinj Museum Railway in Slovenia.
Each summer, in Jesenice in the north of today’s EU Member State of Slovenia,an historical steam train travels through the Triglav National Park and both the Bača and Soča Valleys, to Nova Gorica. The first stop is Bled Jezero. Several actors are on the train, dressed as conductors in the uniforms of the old empire, a special touch that adds to the wonderful atmosphere. The train station is sited above a hollowed-out glacier that later became Bled Lake, one of the warmest lakes in the Alps. The Austro-Hungarian monarchy required a second railway connection between Vienna and Trieste. Its planning took more than thirty years and it took five years to construct: tunnels were blasted out of the rock, narrow valleys used to their best advantage, and amazing bridges constructed. With the completion of this railroad, the railway network connected Vienna and Central Europe with the Adriatic regions of the K and K monarchy. On this journey we have travelled on the youngest of the ‘steam ladies’ of the Ljubljana Railway Museum. The 33-037 weighs a hundred and thirty six tons, is twenty three metres long and its tender can take nine tons of coal. The Bohinj Museum Train is a fabulous experience. Not one to be missed!

SLOVENIA – Oriol Hedo
From Ljbljana, Piran, Portoroz… to Bled Lake and Predjama Castle. Slovenia has been on our bucket list for years. We’ve heard many tales of its beauty from other travellers, but hadn’t a chance to visit ourselves. After some planning, we recently finally got to see the country we’ve been daydreaming of with our own eyes. Wandered around the charming streets of the Old Town, visited the iconic Triple Bridge, saw the grandiose Cathedral and checked out Town Hall. Everything you must see from Ljbljana (Slovenia’ capital city). Piran sits on a peninsula, which is surrounded by the gorgeous Adriatic Sea. While the Istrian coast is known for being rocky, you can find numerous stairways around the peninsula descending right into the sea (where you can also experience really beautiful sunsets behind the skyline though, in fact, they are pretty spectacular regardless of where you visualize them). So if you fancy a refreshing dip on a hot summer’s day, you can easily head right in. While Piran is a destination on its own, its sister town of Portoroz is also worthy of a stop. Its pleasant temperatures, beaches and the sea provide a welcome respite from soaring temperatures elsewhere in Europe. About Bled Lake, one of the most-visited places in Slovenia, thus it can get quite crowded at times. And finally, according to the Predjama Castle, it reigns over the surrounding area, perched high up in a vertical cliff. The castle was referred to in writing for the first time in 1202 and today it has been placed on lists of top 10 castles to see in the world.
To summarize, I definitely recommend exploring Slovenia by car. It saves you a ton of time, gives you a lot of freedom and also the possibility to explore big distances leisurely. Enjoy the best of what the country has to offer, but don’t hesitate to look beyond the popular sights and visit some lesser-known destinations as well to discover the authentic side of Slovenia.
Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did while refreshing these beautiful memories and, as always, thank you very much for all the support and I can’t wait to see what’s coming out soon! :)

What to do in Ljubljana, Slovenia in one day
We love discovering hidden gems within a city and traveling to not so famous destinations. Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, in a way is a hidden gem in Europe.
Ljubljana to me is a mix between Venice and a Eastern European city and you can visit and have a full experience in a day, also from Ljubljana you can make several day trips, as it is in the center of this small country as well as close to other places such as Vienna, Venice, Budapest, Bratislava, and Zagreb.
