How to Travel in Greece With 3 Kids
Can you still travel when you have kids? We tried to answer that question by hitting the roads of mainland Greece for two weeks with our little party of five (Limor, Idan, Elad, Yaron and myself) and this is our comprehensive video report on how we did it. We hit Meteora first, then the Zagori villages in the Epirus region. Then we exchanged the mountains for the Ionian coast travelling through Lychnos (Parga), Acheron, Lefkada and Feneos in the Peloponesos. We wouldn't dare imply traveling with a toddler and a set of twin boys was smooth sailing all the way, but we did have a very special trip and Greece has some stellar sites! I hope this exceptionally long video will entertain you while imparting you with some tips on where to go to in mainland Greece and how to travel with kids... The latter, my wife would say:
1. breastfeed
2. take frameless baby carriers
3. pack your weight in snacks for the kids
4. tire them before dinner
5. rent a car. You'll find yourself strapping them to their seats and cruising just for a bit of piece, more than once on your trip.
6. Don't forget yourself. allow each other some time off from the kids. Every day.
7. Make the sudden rainstorm or any other 'bummer' part of your trip. Can't do anything about it so might as well enjoy it.

Entry from: STIMFALIA, Greece
Entry Title: ORINI KORINTHIA - FENEOS (Peloponnese)
Entry:
We are visiting Orini Korinthia and the Lake (reservoir) of Feneos.
It is about 142 km from Athens and 73 km from Patras.
We passed through Stimfalia and Kastania. The place is full of an incredible variety of trees, fir-forests and lush vegetation. The whole area is unique for walking, and horse riding.
I am talking to a local while buying some walnuts an I tell him how amazed I am with this beauty out here, and that the place reminds me of Switzerland. He tells me that this place here is called the Greek Switzerland by many people and tourists.
We come to the lake where we get off the coach and walk towards the small church of St. Fanourios. This reminds me again of another island. The island of Corfu and the popular Pontikonisi.
Stimfalia is the place where Hercules exterminated Stimfalion's hens back in mythology. In the northern side of the lake there are the ruins of the Citadel of ancient Stimfalia.
Upon reaching the dam we have a marvellous view of lake Doxa, one of the most beautiful in Greece.
We also pass through Trikala Korinthias, located in the hill side of Ziria (Killini) mountain, in an altitude of 900 meters.
I am amazed from the beauty here!
Enjoy the photos I have taken.

Driving to Elati and Libovisi (Kolokotronis' home - mountain road driving, Greece) - onboard camera
Driving to Libovisi (the place where Kolokotronis grew up and where his family home is placed) with a Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5L Invite sedan. The video starts at the junction of Greek National Road 33 (GR-33) with Greek National Road 74 (GR-74), continues on GR-74, passes through the villages of Pyrgaki and Elati and comes to an end at Libovisi. From 19:50 mark of the video the road passes through a thick forest of fir trees that contiues till the end of the video. The type of vegetation changes near Libovisi where the altitude is lower than Elati.
A few words about Theodoros Kolokotronis:
Theodoros Kolokotronis (Greek: Θεόδωρος Κολοκοτρώνης) (3 April 1770 -- 4 February 1843) was a Greek Field Marshal and the pre-eminent leader of the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire.
Kolokotronis' greatest success was the defeat of the Ottoman army under Mahmud Dramali Pasha at the Battle of Dervenakia in 1822. In 1825, he was appointed commander-in-chief of the Greek forces in the Peloponnese. Today, Kolokotronis ranks among the most revered of the protagonists of the War of Independence.
