Goomeri is a town and locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia. The town is located on the intersection of the Burnett, Bunya and Wide Bay Highways, 235 kilometres from the state capital, Brisbane. The town's name is allegedly derived from the Aboriginal name for broken shield.

  • 3. Kingaroy Heritage Museum Kingaroy
    Kingaroy is an agricultural town and locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. It is approximately 210 kilometres or about 2½ hours drive north-west of the state capital Brisbane. The town is situated on the junction of the D'Aguilar and the Bunya Highways. At the 2016 census, Kingaroy had a population of 10,020 with a median age of 37.It is known as the Peanut Capital of Australia because Australia's largest peanut processing plant is located in the town and peanut silos dominate the skyline. Kingaroy is also well known as the home town of former Premier of Queensland, Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen.

    The Bunya Mountains are a distinctive set of peaks forming an isolated section of the Great Dividing Range in southern Queensland. The mountain range forms the northern edge of the Darling Downs in the locality also called Bunya Mountains near Bell and Dalby. The mountains are south of Kingaroy and just to the south west of Nanango. The range is the remains of a shield volcano which was built from numerous basalt lava flows about 23-24 million years ago.In 2009 as part of the Q150 celebrations, the Bunya Mountains was announced as one of the Q150 Icons of Queensland for its role as a Natural attraction.

    Mapleton Falls is a national park near the town of Mapleton on the Blackall Range in South East Queensland, Australia, 95 km north of Brisbane. The falls are part of Pencil Creek and drop 120 metres.The waterfall became a forest reserve in 1938 and then in 1973 it was declared a national park.The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk is a long-distance walking track which passes through the park. There are a number of smaller walks as well.

  • 7. Conondale National Park Kenilworth
    The Conondale Range is a mountain range in Queensland, located between Maleny, Kenilworth, Kilcoy and Jimna. The range is the most westerly part of the Sunshine Coast hinterland and part of the Great Dividing Range. The highest point on the range is Mount Langley reaching 868 m above sea level. This is also the highest point in the Brisbane River catchment.Lower foothills of the range around Kilcoy are used for grazing. Most of the steep forested slopes of the range are state forests and Conondale National Park. In the south, parts of Stony Creek are preserved in Bellthorpe National Park. The mountains are the source of the Brisbane River. Creeks on the south of the range drain into the Stanley River and directly into Lake Somerset. To the north creeks flow into the Mary River.
