The Sunshine Coast (population 312,908 with up to an additional 50,000 in visitors and seasonal workers) is a coastal region located in South East Queensland, north of the Queensland capital of Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast has recently been united into a single Local Government Area, the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.
The Sunshine Coast is bordered by the Pacific Ocean in the east, and extends to the local government boundaries beyond the Blackall Range to the west. Occasionally, the towns of Gympie, which is 30 minutes' drive north of Noosa Heads, and Caboolture, 30 mins drive south of Caloundra, have been included in a broader definition of the Sunshine Coast region.
Beaches
The region is characterized by beautiful beaches, expansive coastal views and rich fertile soils in the hinterland. Many World and Australian-renowned beaches are located at Noosa Heads, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Coolum and Kings Beach in Caloundra. There are popular surfing areas along the beaches and headlands.
[edit] Tourism
The Sunshine Coast is a centre for tourism, containing attractions such as Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, UnderWater World marine park, Aussie World with the Ettamogah Pub, The Buderim Ginger Factory, Big Pineapple and the Majestic Theatre.
Coolum Beach, looking north[edit] National Parks
The Sunshine Coast region is home to more individual national parks than any other region in Queensland[4]. The natural biodiversity of the area has been protected by five separate parks in both coastal and inland regions, including Mapleton Falls National Park, Kondalilla National Park, The Glasshouse Mountains National Park, Noosa National Park, and the Great Sandy National Park, which includes sections on Fraser Island and in Cooloola near Rainbow Beach.
[edit] Golf Courses
The Sunshine Coast boasts numerous golf links, including Headland Golf Club (Buderim), North Lakes, Pacific Harbour, Noosa Springs, Peregian Springs, Twin Waters, Hyatt Regency Coolum and Pelican Waters.

A tranquil and easy 45 min rainforest walk in Mapleton Falls National Park. 5 mins out of Mapleton QLD. See picabeens, strangler figs and age old lichen. Leaf strewn terrain, with boardwalks and easy stone steps. A delightful stroll.

Moraine Lake in 4K (+ Lake Sounds) Banff National Park, Alberta - 1HR Ambient Nature Relaxation Film
DOWNLOAD/DVD/LICENSE @ | WATCH ON-DEMAND (No Watermarks/Ads) @ | MUSIC VERSION @ I ABOUT: (Nature Sounds Version) Arguably the most beautiful lake in the world, Moraine Lake is a stunning glacier fed lake nestled below the Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Alberta. In mid-day sun, the water emits a dazzling fluorescent-blue glow that is one of the most amazing sights to simply watch and ponder at. This was my intention for this 4K UHD Nature Relaxation™ film - to capture the majestic blue waters of Moraine Lake and present it in a way that also does justice to the incredible backdrop upon which the iconic mountain lake rests - something that is not an easy task due to the size of the Ten Peaks. This version features only the subtle sounds of the lake and wind. A music version is also available @
MORE INFO:
Filmed at Moraine Lake in Banff National Park; there are also a few mixed scenes of the surrounding lakes like Lake Louise, Bow Lake and Peyto Lake in 4K UHD. There are a few upscaled HD 1080p shots mixed in from an earlier trip I took there in which I climbed the Tower of Babel, which is the flat-topped spire sitting at the base of Moraine Lake.
Sunshine Coast Waterfalls - Gardners Falls
Gold Coaster visited Gardner's Falls in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. One of the better Sunshine Coast waterfalls.
An easy drive to reach ad close to Maleny in the Blackall Range. Its about a 10 minute walk to the main pool and falls with many smaller pools along the way.
Absolutely perfect for a swim. Bring your swimming costume to these falls without a doubt! 2 rope swing are also available around he main pool if you dare.
Kondallilla waterfall is also near by within 15 minutes drive. Not worth visiting Mapleton falls - All closed off due to landslide under the lookout.
A definite stopover in Montville is recommended right in between these 2 waterfalls.
