Quebec is a province located in eastern Canada, the largest in size and second only to Ontario in population. Predominantly French-speaking (French being the provincial government's official language), Quebec is situated east of Ontario; to the west of Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island; to the south of the territory of Nunavut, and finally bordering the U.S. States of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to its south. Plein Art Québec Over 100 craftspeople gather at the Plein Art Québec festival to exhibit Québec arts and craft creations in ceramics, textile and jewellery (beginning of August).
SAQ New France Festival A celebration of the history of the first Europeans to arrive in North America, the New France Festival presents over 1,000 artistic events every year in a journey back to the past in the heart of Old Québec (beginning of August).
Quebec City International Festival of Military Bands Since 1998, the Quebec City International Festival of Military Bands is the place to go at the end of August if we like Military Music. Bands from Canada and also from all around the world arrive in Quebec City every year to offer spectacular performances.
Quebec City Winter Carnival is the biggest winter carnival in the world. The festival typically starts on the last Friday of January or the first Friday of February and it continues for 17 days, usually with close to one million participants every year.

1. Ottawa, Sitting in Eastern Ontario with a view of Quebec across the river, Ottawa is the national capital of Canada. It's home to Parliament Hill, many national museums, the ByWard Market, and the best Canada Day celebrations.

2009 July Jardin de Metis / Garden of Metis
A beautiful garden located in Quebec, Canada, 15 minutes away from Mont Joli, 7 hours from Montreal. We stayed at a hotel in Mont-Joli in the evening and spent the whole morning at the garden. About a 3 hours walk. It is famous for its blue poppies. Our favorite so far. It is like walking in the mountain half of the time, on paths covered by tall trees and next to streams. Very natural setting compared to most public gardens.

The Rocky Mountain House Historic Site is Alberta's first National Historic Site. The historic site is located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River in the community of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada.

The historic site covers over 228 hectares (564 acres). The grounds of the historic site are located on the the same grounds as the actual forts during that period.
Join me as I wander among the ruins of the fourth fort established by the Hudson's Bay Company in the region, look at a replica York boat, pay my respects to the remains of indigenous peoples found on site by archaeological work, wander among the skeleton of the second fort built during the early period of fur trading in the region and finish off my visit to this historic site by looking at one of Canada's icons the bison!

Winnipeg Manitoba Canada - by Andru Valpy
Winnipeg is the capital and largest city in the Canadian province of Manitoba located in the prairies of Western Canada. It is also the geographical heart of North America.
Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba. With around 700,000 people, the city has been a trading center for more than an astonishing 6,000 years. Crowned by the famous Golden Boy, the Legislative Building is considered one of the finest in the country.
Winnipeg is home to historic architecture; distinctive neighbourhoods; scenic waterways; a heritage river; and numerous parks, including Assiniboine Park.
Near the famous crossroads of Portage and Main is the via train station, a station that was designed by the same firm that made Grand Central Station. Close by is the Forks market.
For at least 6000 years, the Forks has been the meeting place for early Aboriginal peoples, and since colonization has also been a meeting place for European fur traders, Métis buffalo hunters, Scottish settlers, riverboat workers, railway pioneers and tens of thousands of immigrants.
The Forks Market's first floor contains mostly food shops, where specialty items can be found as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. The second floor is home to many ethnic shops, as well as a ballet conservatory and a large craft store among other things. Across the large courtyard you may find Johnson Terminal, home of Finn's Pub, an Old Spaghetti Factory, more shops and a large cooperative antique store in the basement. There are often buskers in and around the Forks, who must audition for a buskers license to perform there.
Near the forks is the Esplanade Riel.
The Esplanade Riel is a pedestrian bridge located in Winnipeg, Manitoba designed by Étienne Gaboury of Wardrop Engineering and completed in 2003. It spans the Red River connecting downtown Winnipeg with St. Boniface. It is paired with a vehicular bridge, Provencher Bridge.
The bridge is only one of a few in the world in that it has a restaurant (Salisbury House) on it, giving patrons an excellent view of the river and in its rarely seen structure.
The Esplanade Riel has become a landmark and is used in many promotional materials.
Winnipeg is known for it's cold winters, and above average summers.
