Alma from Iligan City Philippines visit: Grisslehamn in Sweden. Grisslehamn is a locality situated in Norrtälje Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 249 inhabitants in 2010.[1]
It is located on the coast by the Sea of Åland; the Eckerö Linjen ferries between Åland and Sweden operate between Grisslehamn and Eckerö on Åland.
The name Grisslehamn was first mentioned in a document from 1376 about the mail route between Sweden and Finland. This Grisslehamn was located some 20 km south of today's location. In the mid-18th century, most of the old village was destroyed in a fire, and it was decided to move Grisslehamn to its current location to make the mail route shorter. Conveying mail by row boat from Sweden to Åland, from whence it was transported to the Finnish mainland, was, together with fishing, one of the most important sources of income for the inhabitants of Grisslehamn and other parts of Roslagen for a long time, until steam ships took over the mail routes in the early 20th century.
The artist Albert Engström had a studio in Grisslehamn, where he painted oils and water colours of the Roslagen landscape. He lived in the town for a number of years, and his home is now a museum of his life and work.
Today Grisslehamn is perhaps best known for the ferry traffic (Eckerö Line) from Grisslehamn to the small village of Eckerö situated on the Åland islands.

Aland Drone Flight: The Åland Islands, or Åland, is an autonomous region of Finland. Comprising around 6,700 islands, this Swedish-speaking archipelago is in the Baltic Sea. The capital, Mariehamn, on the main island of Fasta Åland, is known for its beaches and streets lined with 19th-century wooden townhouses, handicraft shops and cafes. Västerhamn, the towns western port, links Åland with Estonia, Sweden and mainland Finland. Västerhamn is home to the Åland Maritime Museum, with exhibits about the areas seafaring past, and the 4-masted sailing ship Pommern, which is moored beside the museum. Boatbuilding and crafts are on show in Sjökvarteret, the maritime quarter along Mariehamns eastern harbor. Kastelholm Castle, northeast of Mariehamn, dates back to the 14th century. Farther east are the ruins of Bomarsund, a Russian fortress destroyed in the Crimean War. Ferries from Grisslehamn, Sweden, land at Berghamn port on Eckerö Island, west of Fasta Åland. Gone Camping på Åland – Cykel, kajak och drickbara vrakfynd
Mitt mellan Finland och Sverige, endast 2 timmar med färja från Grisslehamn, ligger Åland. En självstyrande del av republiken Finland, där förstaspråket är svenska och där den aktuella valutan är Euro. En blandning av våra båda länder, skulle man kunna säga.
Vi åker husbil med Eckerölinjen, vi besöker Eckerö Post- och tullhus, museifartyget Pommern och mycket mer. Vi ställer husbilen på Grisslehamns Marina & Camping i Sverige innan vi tar färjan över.

Roslagsleden är en del av en Europavandringsleden E6 som sträcker sig från Turkiet till Kilpisjärvi i norra Finland via Sverige.
Roslagsleden är ett samarbete mellan sex kommuner i Stockholms län. Leden färdigställdes under 2009 och sträcker sig från Danderyd till Grisslehamn. Du går längs vindlande skogsstigar och krokiga grusvägar och träffar på många intressanta besöksmål utmed leden.
Roslagsleden erbjuder totalt 19 mils vandring i runrik forminnesbygd, genom orörda skogar med klara sjöar, i levande landsbygd, på historiska platser, i skyddad natur och längs en kust som bjuder på klippor, klappersten och sand vid ett oändligt vackert hav.
Roslagsleden börjar i Danderyd och passerar genom Sollentuna, Täby, Vallentuna, Österåker och Norrtälje. I Norrtälje fortsätter leden via Vigelsjö camping, Roslagsbro och Söderby Karl, förbi Rådasjön genom Gåsvik, utefter kanalen till Älmsta, över bron till Sandviken vidare utefter kusten till Gamla Grisslehamn och Albert Engströmsmuseet.
