About this video:
It’s Day 59 of New Zealand’s Biggest Gap Year where we are challenging ourselves to do 365 Days: 365 Activities in New Zealand! Today we are exploring the city of Wanganui! What’s more all the things we are going to be doing are free (or very very cheap).
We take a look at the city centre architecture of Wanganui before hitting the Wanganui Museum. Next, it’s off to Durie Hill to take the historic Durie Hill Elevator which is down and awesome tunnel lined with Maori carvings.
After a bumpy ride up the Durie Hill Elevator, we arrive at the Durie Hill Water Tower which is free to climb up. We go up countless stairs of the Durie Hill Tower to get some awesome views of Wanganui City and the Whanganui River.
It’s back to our accommodation now, the 42b College House backpackers.
So what do you think of Wanganui? Is it a city you would like to visit in New Zealand?

Our friend Mohammed took ous to the figure 8 pools and showed ous a lost place in the royal national park. We rented some kajaks in the national park and made a boat trip. We reached a cool place where we had some fun with a hanging rob.
On the other day we went to one of the most famous beaches in Australia the Bondi Beach. We explored a cool place where you can hang out when the water level is low.
We hope that you enjoyed it. If you liked the video please give us a thumb up, leave a comment and subscribe! :)

Mount Taranaki, New Zealand
Mount Taranaki, or Mount Egmont, is an active but quiescent stratovolcano in the Taranaki region on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island.
aiya!!! (new zealand 10)
哎呀妈呀
we use aiya on every little thing here even if theres nothing to 'aiya' it just comes naturally. Then we realised westerners do not use this and we think its such a shame because its such a good word for everything.
anyway! we were in taranaki for a week and stayed in Hawera (down in South Taranaki). We happened to be in the area while the Festival of Lights in New Plymouth was still on so we spent an entire day on a road trip down the Surf Highway (stopped by at least 5 beaches).
Taranaki is very fun!!! If you're ever in the North Island please visit it. All the beaches on the west coast (Taranaki all the way up to Auckland, I believe) are black sand beaches and let me tell you, black sand beaches are 99% better than normal beaches.
places featured in this video (✨ must visit!):
- Lake Rotokare
- Pukekura Park and the Festival of Lights (New Plymouth) ✨
- Paritutu Rock ✨
- Cape Egmont Lighthouse
- Veronica Track @ North Egmont National Park

10 Tweed Street, Herne Bay
Architecturally designed by Brent Hulena, this home has been created by capturing elegant and luxurious simplicity.
With 349 sq m approx. of living, the home offers all modern lifestyle conveniences and superb indoor and outdoor entertaining areas. Sitting on the cusp of Herne Bay and St Marys Bay, enjoy harbour views from the lounge area that is spacious and complete with bar area with dish-drawer and wine fridge. The gas fires (two indoor and one outdoor) complement the air conditioning and heat pump systems, offering full comfort across all seasons.
The kitchen is fit for any cook or party catering event, and flows to the sheltered private rear garden area. If you love art then this is a home that will showcase your collection to its best.
A great deal of foresight was put into the rooms and the flow. The main bedroom suite has a luxuriously large bathroom and dressing room, and the primary guest bedroom is also en-suited. Both en-suites were designed with baths, showers and double vanities.
Internal garaging also offers large storage capacity. The location is second to none with an easy stroll to Ponsonby and Jervois Road. These areas offer some of Auckland's top dining and retail experiences, along with only minutes to the CBD or motorway networks by car.
This is a place to linger, with easy care for busy lives and weekend get-aways. Call today for viewing times.
