Hormozgan Province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. It is in the south of the country, in Iran's Region 2, facing Oman and UAE. Its area is 70,697 km2 , and its provincial capital is Bandar Abbas. The province has fourteen islands in the Persian Gulf and 1,000 km of coastline. The province has 13 major cities: Bandar Abbas, Bandar Lengeh, Hajiabbad, Minab, Qeshm, Sardasht, Sirik, Jask, Bastak, Bandar Khamir, Parsian, Rudan, and Abumusa. Hengam Island , is an Iranian island located south of Qeshm Island, Iran, in the Persian Gulf. It is 36.6 kilometres wide and shaped like a truncated cone. The island is generally calcareous and generally low-lying. The highest point on the island is Nakas Mountain with an altitude of about 106 metres . The distance between Hengam Island and Qeshm Island is about 2 kilometres The primary economic activity is fishing, as well as some tourism and sightseeing. The main sights of Hengam are the English harbor buildings along with the coal storage, the Portuguese shipwrecks, and aquatic animals such as turtles, dolphins, corals, and sharks.

The Hara Protected Area on Quesm and the nearby mainland is a biosphere reserve where commercial use is restricted to fishing , tourist boat trips, and limited mangrove cutting for animal feed.

The 2005 Qeshm earthquake occurred on November 27 at 13:52 IRST on the sparsely populated Qeshm Island off Southern Iran, killing 13 people and devastating 13 villages. It was Iran's second major earthquake of 2005, following that at Zarand in February. The epicenter was about 1,500 kilometers south of Tehran, close to Iran's southern borders. Initial measurements showed that the earthquake registered about 6.0 on the moment magnitude scale, although that was reduced to 5.8 after further analysis. More than 400 minor aftershocks followed the main quake, 36 of which were greater than magnitude 2.5. Qazvin, an ancient and touristy City, is located 135 kilometers northwest of Tehran on the foothills of Alborz mountain range. Qazvin is one of the most important cultural and economic centers in Iran thanks to being located on the most important roads of the Country, possessing a vast and fertile plain and buoyant agriculture, enjoying temperate climate, having industrial cities in its surroundings together with various religious schools.

The establishment of Qazvin, based on some historical writings, dates back to mid fifth millennium before Christ and according to other findings to the Sassanid era in Iranian history. Apparently, Shapoor Zolaktaf (310-371 AD) ordered the building of a castle to prevent Deilamiyan’s aggressions in an area that later became the City of Qazvin. Some historians believe that the name Qazvin is derived from Kashvin, meaning border keeping and some orientalists are of the view that the name is taken from the name of tribes called Kaspin who settled to the west of Caspian Sea.

The City was the capital of Iran in the Safavid era for 51 years (from 955 After Hejrah) and is therefore of cultural and historical significance in Iranian history.

We went to the Botanical Garden in Oslo, the Capital of Norway. We had this supergood raw and delicious Persian/Iranian Melon. It tasted so good! The original name of the fruit is Persian Melon make a great addition to any breakfast. Just remove the seeds, cut into slices and enjoy!
After picking melons will ripen but their sugar content does not increase much. At room temperature it takes up to four days for melons to ripen and get more juicy. Melons are ethylene sensitive, so they ripen faster if stored with ethylene-producing fruit! A Persian

Persian Melons are low in Saturated Fat and Sodium, and very low in Cholesterol. They are also a good source of Dietary Fiber, and an excellent source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C.

Second trip to Iran I am still much in love with the country. This time my trip was much shorter and focusing more on the south. The video includes Shushtar, Shiraz and Hormoz island. I also visited Qeshm, but did not get enough good video from there.

Shahdad (Persian: شهداد‎‎, ) is a city in and the capital of Shahdad District, in Kerman County, Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,097, in 1,010 families.Shahdad is the centre of Shahdad district which includes smaller cities and villages such as Sirch, Anduhjerd, Chehar Farsakh, Go-diz, Keshit, Ibrahim Abad, Joshan and Dehseif.The driving distance from Kerman city to Shahdad is 95 km. Shahdad is located at the edge of the Lut desert. The local climate is hot and dry. The main agricultural produce is date fruits.
