The 5 Most African-American Friendly Countries
One of the most emailed questions I get to my inbox, is about countries that are African-American friendly. So what exactly does that mean? Watch the video and see!
And while it's important to realize every African-American will have their own unique experience, I just wanted to highlight the most pleasant experiences I've received through my 30 countries of travels (now 65 by the start of 2018).
Remember, it's okay to disagree and our experiences will vary based on so many things. Being an African-American WOMAN vs. an African-American MAN also renders its own unique account.

Heavener Runestone Park
This video was originally part of our longer, Lake Wister State Park video. I decided to post a shorter version of my Lake Wister video for those viewers that would say no thanks to a video over 30 minutes long. This is the edited video that documents our outing to Heavener Runestone Park during the Labor Day Weekend of 2018 when we stayed at Lake Wister. I have since split the original Lake Wister State Park video up in to three shorter videos but if you would like to see them all together then you can still find the longer version on our channel!
The Heavener Runestone Park in Heavener Oklahoma is a fascinating place for history buffs, nature lovers, and explorers. The park has ancient runestones that date back to sometime between the 6th and 8th centuries and are thought to have been inscribed by none other than the Vikings!! Yes! You read that right! Vikings! The largest of these runestones is a sandstone slab so big that a building has been constructed around it to protect it from the elements. Heavener Runestone Park is a beautiful place tucked away in the dense forest lands of East Oklahoma. The park itself has a beautifully constructed trail flanked by magnificent stonework that marks a 1/4 mile long trail leading down to the main attraction. It is quite a site to behold and we believe it to be well worth the trip if you find yourself in this area of Oklahoma. We stayed at nearby Lake Wister State Park and also have a seperate video documenting our stay there, so please be sure to check that video out, especially if you are an RV enthusiast!
Thank you so much for watching our video! We welcome any comments that you may have and please like and subscribe!

Black Mesa State Park
Black Mesa is located in Oklahoma's panhandle along the tri-state border with Colorado and New Mexico. The nature preserve consists of approximately 1,600 acres where visitors can hike and enjoy 23 rare plants and eight rare animal species. The unique area marks the point where the Rocky Mountains meet the shortgrass prairie and many species are at the easternmost or westernmost point of their natural range. In addition to being an excellent location for wildlife watching, Black Mesa State Park boasts some of the darkest nighttime skies on publicly accessible land in the country. The dark skies draw countless astronomy enthusiasts to the area every year as they make star gazing ideal.

Hurricane Katrina Historic Storm Surge Video - Gulfport, Mississippi
Exclusive (Emmy Award) video shot by Mike Theiss from ground zero of Hurricane Katrina's historic 28 foot storm surge that ripped through Gulfport, Mississippi on August 29th, 2005. This video has a time stamp to give a complete and accurate timeline from the Holiday Inn beachfront hotel located directly on the beach in Gulfport. Also, included are shots from the Theiss-Device which is a camera housing designed by Mike to be placed in a place that would be too dangerous from any human to survive. This 13 minute video will give you a sense of just how bad Katrina was on the Gulf Coast without actually putting you in harms way !!!
To see the entire version of this video about 2 hours in duration please purchase the DVD Battle at the Beachfront.
We hope this documentation helps enforce a sense of storm awareness and a respect for the power of mother nature. When local officials ask you to evacuate just think of this video and ask yourself do you want to risk being put in a situation like this ?
