For dinner we had our first Russian food which was what Nate referred to as Russian Empanadas. A local recommended them to us and they were delicious! They weren't easy to order, but totally worth the effort!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on YouTube, such as: +CaseyNeistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown, and any other talented travel vloggers that YouTube’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)

Sea island in the centre of Moscow [Moscow Travel Guide]
Today Moscow travel guide invites you to find a sea island in the centre of Moscow!
And here is the kingdom of the sea on Moscow boulevard - the mansion of Ryabushinskiy! Korney Chukovskiy wrote about this house: This is the most dirty sample of decadent style! Not a single fair line or straight corner! Everything is spoiled by ugly talentless curves!
In fact this is called modern style or art nuvo. Every fasade has a unique look. And in its lines the sea theme is clearly seen. Its wonderful, that in the beginning of the 20th century someone had an idea to create something like this. But who?
The russian banker and manufacturer Stepan Ruabushinskiy asked his good friend, the famous architect Fedor Shectel to build it. Lets look at the mansion from the outside. We can see the elements of gothic and moorish style at once. The mosaic with iris flowers and and barred windows in art nuvo style.
And one more original detail by Shectel - windows are made on different levels. It looks like the house has many floors. The moment you get inside you are impressed by the splendor of the interior. Every small detail is thought out.
All the diversity of nature is here: plants, insects, sea inhabitants. As if you are in the kingdom of Neptun on the bottom of the sea. Turtlles, jelly fish, shells and seahorses - are used in the interior. The windows of the lobby are decorated with the huge stained glass that looks like butterfly wings! There are 9 stained glasses like this here.
The mosaic on the floor looks like water swell, and the form of the stacco resembles overgrown pond with the slow snail on it. And here is the chef adornment of the mansion - 12 meter long stairway. This stairway is called melting because it looks like melting sea foam. It raises to to the 1 st floor by smooth semicircle, proudly carrying fantastic railing, that resembles sea waves.
The wave starts with a strong marble splash. And to the top of it a jelly fish chandelier is thrown. The lamps of unusual form hang down like long feelers of this sea creature. A curious detail, that if you look down to this jelly fish lamp you can see a turtle shell.
I think, that the mansion is worth seeing only because of this stairway.he interior is full of symbols. For example this column with capital in the shape of lizard and snake, connected with each other. They symbolize the Good and the Evil, that are always inseparable.
Near the column there is a gallery that leads to the secret room. But what kind of room is it? The thing is that the first owner of the house Stepan Ryabushinskiy was a religious man, old believer. He was the first in Russia who started the scientific restoration of old icons. And he actually made his workshop here.
The chapel with round dome is located in the attic in the south west corner of the house - it actually is this secret room. Look at the ornament of the dome – sea waves again. Its easy to walk around this house, you just go in circle and get from one room to another through the doorway. Dont forget to look at the doors, each of them is unique, by size and decoration. But everywhere there is a common theme of sea waves again.
The fact, that all of it remained till now is a miracle. It happened because the writer Maksim Gorkiy used to live here in 1930s. And his museum apartment is here today.
Moreover, today the mansion of Ryabushinskiy is opened to visitors for free. So come here and enjoy this jewel of architecture!
