Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and is a charming city to visit. Despite its small size, Ljubljana boasts vibrant cultural and culinary scenes, as well as beautiful architecture and lively cafés/bars. I recommend spending at least a few days to explore this great city. Here are ten things to do in Ljubljana to get you started.

Maribor, Slovenia - Travel Around The World | Top best places to visit in Maribor
Top best places to visit in Maribor, Slovenia
Maribor is the second most important center and the second largest city of Slovenia.
Maribor, set amid the wine-region hills of the Pohorje Mountain, is the real Pride of Styria, a traditional region in northeastern Slovenia.
The city’s old town is situated on the left bank of the river Drava. On the Main Square is the Town Hall and... the Plague Memorial, which commemorates the “black death” that devastated the city in 1680.
The Castle Square, the core of city center, is very popular among locals, with the St Florian Statue in the middle and, built in the 15th century, the Maribor Castle.
Next to this, one of the most remarkable architectonic buildings in the city, are the National Liberation Monument and... the ‘Reddish’' Franciscan Church.
The most important sacred temple in the city, the Maribor Cathedral, a Roman Catholic church, stands on the Slomskov Square, one of the most charming places in the city. The small park is surrounded also by the Post of Slovenia, the University of Maribor and the National Theater.
Of the remnants of city walls surrounding the old town, the most prominent are:
The Judgment Tower, a fortified medieval structure.
Built to secure city walls from the direction of the river, the Water Tower.
One of the oldest preserved synagogues in Europe, and one of only two left in Slovenia, the Maribor Synagogue.
And the Old Vine House, a museum dedicated to this 450 year old tree which still gives grapes.
But the real charm of the city is hidden between the lovely streets and squares in the old town.
Despite the relative small size, Maribor has a surprisingly big green space, the Mestni Park.
And a big football arena, the Ljudski Vrt Stadium, the home ground of Maribor Football Club.
The Piramida Hill is a good place to see the city from high up, from the spot the Maribor Castle used to stand, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the whole city.

Bohinj Museum Railway (Slovenia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Vacation travel video about destination Bohinj Museum Railway in Slovenia.
Each summer, in Jesenice in the north of today’s EU Member State of Slovenia,an historical steam train travels through the Triglav National Park and both the Bača and Soča Valleys, to Nova Gorica. The first stop is Bled Jezero. Several actors are on the train, dressed as conductors in the uniforms of the old empire, a special touch that adds to the wonderful atmosphere. The train station is sited above a hollowed-out glacier that later became Bled Lake, one of the warmest lakes in the Alps. The Austro-Hungarian monarchy required a second railway connection between Vienna and Trieste. Its planning took more than thirty years and it took five years to construct: tunnels were blasted out of the rock, narrow valleys used to their best advantage, and amazing bridges constructed. With the completion of this railroad, the railway network connected Vienna and Central Europe with the Adriatic regions of the K and K monarchy. On this journey we have travelled on the youngest of the ‘steam ladies’ of the Ljubljana Railway Museum. The 33-037 weighs a hundred and thirty six tons, is twenty three metres long and its tender can take nine tons of coal. The Bohinj Museum Train is a fabulous experience. Not one to be missed!

Slovenia in 4 days
I'm Gal Dolinar and at the moment I am on one year internship in Germany, where I met some amazing people from all around the world. I am telling everyone that I come from the most beautiful country in the world. Because it is so small, a lot of people doesn't even know where it is or they mix it with Slovakia. In Slovenia we have everything: beautifull mountians, lakes, caves and beaches.
And this is how my best friends from internship, John from Peru and Sahira from Dominican republic decided to come on a visit during my vacation in Slovenia. We had only four days, but our country is so small that you can do really a lot of things in a little time. This is the video of our 4 day trip, which we made from 25 – 28 March 2016. #ifeelslovenia

Slovenia in 2 minutes
Ljubljana is the start of my return to Europe. In October of 2015 I spent two weeks in Iceland and had an incredible time. I had been planning a European trip for a while but I wasn’t really sure where I wanted to go. It wasn’t until I found Alan X El Mundo, a Mexican YouTuber with a channel dedicated to travel. His highlight of Slovenia made me fall in love with the country’s natural beauty. After seeing his series on Slovenia I knew I wanted to drive through Vršič Pass and experience Soča Rocks. This is my adventure throughout Slovenia.
