Beopjusa Temple, South Korea
This is a video of my trip to South Korea I did in August 2012. Beopjusa (법주사) is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It is situated on the slopes of Songnisan in Naesongni-myeon, Boeun County, in the province of Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. It was initially constructed in 653 by Silla monk Uisin. It has been historically associated with Beopsang thought and the worship of the Maitreya Buddha.
Korean Food - Premium Korean JANGSU BEEF! (Day 9)
On Day 9 in this South Korean food and travel video series, we took a day trip from Jeonju to Jangsu and Jinan. Jangsu happens to be famous for Korean beef, and that was the highlight of my day.
1:24 Jangsu Horse Riding - The first thing we did when we arrive to Jangsu is go to a horse ranch and took a lesson riding horses. I was picturing a slow horseback ride, but when we got there, it was a full on race horse jockey ride. We rode around the course for about 30 minutes, and although we barely went fast at all, it seemed pretty fast when I was on the horse! 4:09 Jangsu Korean Beef - One of the most famous places that raises beef in South Korea is Jangsu, and there’s no better place to experience Jangsu beef then right in Jangsu. We went to a restaurant located right in the center of town and we went to a restaurant called Jangsu Premium Beef (장수한우명품관), well known in the city for its high quality beef. The restaurant was a butchery as well, and so after choosing out our own pieces of beef from the fridge we then went to sit down at the restaurant. The beef was insanely delicious, as was the side dishes that accompanied our meal, and also the final bowl of naengmyeon noodles. Total price for 4 - 117,000 Won ($100.91)
11:20 Maisan Provincial Park (마이산도립공원) - 3,000 Won ($2.58) - After that amazing Korean beef lunch, we headed to Maisan Provincial Park, a nature mountain park and temple famous for its horse ear shaped peaks. Towards the back of the park is the Tapsa Temple (마이산 탑사), a stone stacked temple, that’s an incredible site to see. I also had a chance to try to some deep fried ginseng while walking in this beautiful natural park.
14:50 Red Ginseng Spa - 31,000 ($26.74) - Our next stop in Jinan, South Korea was the Red Ginseng Spa, which was a self service spa where we went through a series of different ginseng health rooms and spa treatments. It was pretty interesting, and a good way to relax after that beef meal and walking around the Maisan Provincial Park (마이산도립공원).
16:39 Hwasim Sundubu (원조 화심 순두부) - For dinner we went to a restaurant near back to Jeonju that specializes in sundubu jjigae, a type of soft tofu stew. It was an amazing dinner and a great way to end this day in Jeonbu, South Korea.

Jinan : Icy breeze and a cold stream in the middle of Summer 진안 풍혈냉천
In Jinan(진안), there's an icy mountains that gets cooler when it's hot. It is called Poonghyeol-Naengcheon(풍혈-냉천). This is where you have to go in the summer :)

Jeju Island Guide: Chagwido is Greatful
Jeju Island Korea Travel Guide. Chagwido is Located at the western end of Jejudo Island, Suwolbong, a small mountain peak, is renowned as the favorite sunset viewing spot. This mountain has a vertical cliff that spreads like a scroll painting, made from ocean waves gradually cutting the land. The top of the Suwoljeong hexagonal pavilion, from which you can look down on all sides. From this pavilion, you can see all the West Sea.
To the north, offshore, is Chagwido Island (sometimes called Jukdo), where only the peak areas have grass growing, and the rest of the island consists of dark rock and hyeonmuam cliffs. Chagwido is famous for fishing, and in January, March, June, and December, people come here for fishing. Around sunset, Chagwido beach turns red from the sun and is truly an amazing sight to behold. Yecheon is a small city in Gyeongsangbuk-do. There is Sobaek Mountain range in the north and Taebaek mountain range in the east, so the nature is beautiful. Rice farming-oriented agriculture is developed in major industries. There are many cultural assets related to Buddhism / Confucianism, and there are representative tourist sites such as 'Samkang jumak', 'Hoeryongpo Village', and 'Geumdangsil village'.

South Korea: the horse-ear peaks and temples at Maisan provincial Park, a korean highlight
Maisan Provincial Park is located east of the city of Jeonju. Its most famous feature is the two horse ear mountains giving the park its in name in korean. They are two conglomerate peaks (Sutmaisan and Ammaisan) in the shape of horse ears. Below each one of the peaks there is a temple: Unsu-sa and Tap-sa. tap-sa is famous for the stone pinnacles built by a buddhist monk in the 19th century. Outside Unsu-sa there is a very old a pear tree 18 meter high.
To reach Maisan from Jeonju you can take a bus to the town of Jinan, where there is a minibus going to Maisan. The first parts of the video shows the bus trip from Jeonju.

If you follow National Road No. 15 up from the Bamboo Museum, you'll come across a beautiful and exotic boulevard that looks like it is came straight out of a fairytale. This unearthly place is the Metasequoia-lined Road.
Metasequoia trees were planted along the street in the early 1970s when the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially designated the road as a boulevard. At that time, the saplings were only 3 to 4 years old and their branches stretched sparsely out into the sky; now, the trees have grown so high that they seem to block out the sun! Thanks to these stately trees, in 2002 the Korea Forest Service selected the boulevard as one of the most beautiful roads in Korea.
The 4 kilometer-long boulevard is located along National Road No. 24 and is one of the most popular driving routes in Korea, especially during summer when the trees' lush green leaves are at their height of beauty. Feel free to stop your car along the roadside to take a walk among these 10 to 20-meter-tall trees and breathe their fresh scent. Bicycling along this route and appreciating its real beauty at a leisurely pace is also highly recommended.

Ungangsan is a mountain 1126m high in Jinan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea.
It is the highest mountain among the old mountain ranges of Honam Province.

The name of Yongbangdae, which is Jungbong, became the mountain name.
