The resort locations are beautiful, the snow and skiing conditions great, but there are not many people here to enjoy all this. If the school kids weren't there the place would have seemed deserted, it would be really hard trying to run a business here with so few potential customers, but even then your bills don't stop.
Then when we went for a drive around the condos/cabins the number of for sale units was a surprise. With real estate sales slowing drastically in Canada, recreational properties and along with them their owners will face a tough time...
