Nafpaktos is a beautiful coastal town on the Corinthian Gulf, in Sterea or Central Greece. It is built up into a hillside, located 42 km from Messologhi, 10 km from the Rio-Antirro Bridge and 218 km from Athens. It is one of the oldest Greek cities that was associated with significant historical events. This is confirmed by the excellent fortification, which starts from the port with two watchtowers and continues with three successive walls, ending at the Venetian castle on top of the hill. It is a city with a lot of traffic during the entire year, which increases during the summer months. Visitors will find taverns, restaurants, cafes at the city center, at the beaches or at the castle hill overlooking the sea. Nafpaktos is ideal for summer holidays with beautiful beaches both in the city and at short distances from it.

Mainland Thessaly: Crafted by the Gods

In Meteora, giant outcrops, leviathans in store, rise suddenly from the plain, crowned with gravity-defying Byzantine monasteries reaching into the blue heavens for their ultimate inspirations. The open city of Larissa has youthful heart learning on a potent historical heritage. Trikala, with tree-lighned squares, plenty of pedestrian walkways, cyclists gamboling around its neighbourhoods and the aroma of coffee ever present in the air. With one eye on the breathtaking Agrafa mountain range and the other on the sweeping plain of Thessaly at its feet, you can pedal though the beatiful city of Karditsa. The beauty of its waters, reflecting the imperious peaks of the Agrafa mountain range, make Lake Plastira a desirable spot for lovers of nature. Nature sets the scene for fairytale fantasy in and aournd the famed double act of Elati and Pertouli. Pelion strikes a scintillating balance between the summer heat and the breezy cool of the high land.

Zagora ( Pelion - Ζαγορά Πηλίου ) is the biggest village of the Mountain, located 47 km from Volos. Built up a the mountainside, it offers an unobstructed view of the Aegean sea and the surrounding area. Most of the houses are traditionally built with stone. It is worth visiting the Library where there are almost 18.000 books, among them some rare manuscripts and The School of Riga, founded in 18th century. Visitors can sample traditional food in the taverns scattered around the village. Every year, in early September, the local Women's Cooperative organizes the apple festival, for the famous Zagora apples considered the best of the kind. The ski resort is 20 km away for winter visitors. The nearest long sandy and well organized beach is Horefto which is 2,5 km away.
