Paradies: Koh Jum
In der Andaman See gibt es ja jede Menge Inseln und bekannte Hot Spots (Phi Phi Islands & Co), aber zum Glück noch einige Perlen mit dem ursprünglichen Thailand-Charakter, wenigen Touristen und einem „Lost“-Flair á la Robinson Crusoe. Koh Jum ist eine davon! An den 7 Tagen die wir dort genossen, fanden wir absolute Entspannung, Freude am leben in der Natur und Freedom.
Als wir dort ankamen, im Freedom Bungalow „Resort“, sahen wir uns gegenseitig in strahlende und funkelnde Augen und lachten herzhaft, weil der Name so passend ist, für dieses Fleckchen an der Südspitze der Insel. Wir fühlten uns dort sofort wohl, heil und irgendwie angekommen. Für 700 THB (ca. 18 €) mieteten wir einen Strandbungalow, nur 10 Meter vom Meer entfernt! Es war unbeschreiblich wundervoll dort und ja, wir spürten in uns und rundherum auch Frieden, Freiheit und Liebe.

Krabi and Ko Jum, Thailand (HD) (GoPro)
Krabi is a city in Krabi province in Southern Thailand. We stayed there over night and in the morning took a ferry and then a long boat to a small Island in the Andaman Sea called Ko Jum.
Ko Jum is one of the least travel to Island..no big resorts, no party scene, at times it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. Totally mellow vibes, wonderful people, great food. We stayed at Loma Sea View, a family run place...We Loved It! The people who ran place were wonderful and great food, just incredible. Also we like Rosa's at the top of the hill on the main road..again fantastic food made with love.
We basically did nothing while we were there for a week, just chilled out, read a few books, fought off the moneys, and took in the views.

Having wrapped up the Singapore/Malaysia leg of the trip, The Diemers say goodbye to the Finneys and are finally off to Thailand. Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand. Phi Phi Island is our favorite place in Thailand so far.
Getting There:
From Krabi and Ao Ngang, you can book ferry tickets at several travel agencies and guesthouses (cost 350 baht pp) which included transport from our guesthouse to the ferry pier. The ferry trip from Krabi to Phi Phi island is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Upon arrival you'll be required to pay 20 baht pp, the national park fee.
Getting Around:
Phi Phi is an ideal walking island, you can walk from Loh Dalum bay to Ton Sai bay in 10 minutes. No major roads exist here, it's a delightfully easy-going village of cobblestone pathways with the main mode of transportation being walking or riding a bicycle.
Accommodations:
Fresh off the ferry you'll be bombarded by touts on the pier, trying to sell you on guesthouses and hotels. We recommend exploring accommodations on your own, it's a very small walking island, guesthouses are everywhere, you won't have any problem locating and finding one that suits your budget and taste.
Night Life
Watch out for staying too close to Loh Dalum Beach, if you want to get some sleep at night, that's not the place. When night falls, Loh Dalum beach becomes the center for night life on the island. Lined with beach front restaurants and bars, the fire shows are great entertainment and the music is pumping until the wee hours of the morning... every night.
Things To Do:
Boat excursions, snorkeling trips and scuba diving are the most popular activities on and around Phi Phi. You can take a long tail boat or speed boat out to other nearby islands, perhaps the most well known destination being Maya Bay, made famous by the movie The Beach with Leonardo Dicaprio. We went on a day trip boat excursion and loved it, we'll have that footage posted soon.
