A brief tour of the UNESCO World Heritage watch-making town of La Chaux-de-Fonds in north-western Switzerland. It's a pretty little spot, and unique in that the entire town has been planned and designed around the watch-making industry! From long straight streets to manage snow, to only building on the north side of the valley, allowing easier access to sunlight - it's fascinating! And some of the world's most famous watch brands got started here, including Rolex, Omega and Tag-Heuer.

While the Alps occupy the greater part of the territory, the Swiss population of approximately 8 million people is concentrated mostly on the plateau, where the largest cities are to be found: among them are the two global cities and economic centres Zürich and Geneva.
