10 Best Attractions in Cyprus
10. Hala Sultan Tekke
Hala Sultan Tekke complex is composed of a mosque, mausoleum, minaret, cemetery, and living quarters for men and women. The term tekke (convent) applies to a building designed specifically for gatherings of a Sufi brotherhood, or tariqa, and may have referred to an earlier feature of the location.
9. Troodos Mountains
Troodos is the largest mountain range of Cyprus, located in the center of the island. Troodos' highest peak is Mount Olympus at 1,952 meters which also hosts 4 ski slopes. The Troodos mountain range stretches across most of the western side of Cyprus. There are many famous mountain resorts, Byzantine monasteries and churches on mountain peaks, and nestling in its valleys and picturesque mountains are villages clinging to terraced hill slopes.
8. Büyük Han
Buyuk Han is the largest caravansarai on the island of Cyprus and is considered to be one of the finest buildings on the island. Located in North Nicosia, Northern Cyprus, it was built by the Ottomans in 1572, the year after they had seized Cyprus from the Venetians. In the centre of the open courtyard is a mosque with a fountain for pre-prayer ablutions.
7. Scuba diving
The wreck of the Zenobia off Larnaca is one of the best dives in the Mediterranean.
6. St Hilarion Castle
The Saint Hilarion Castle lies on the Kyrenia mountain range, in Northern Cyprus near Kyrenia. This location provided the castle with command of the pass road from Kyrenia to Nicosia. It is the best preserved ruin of the three former strongholds in the Kyrenia mountains, the others being Kantara and Buffavento.
5. Golden Beach
Sea turtles and humans alike flock to Nangomi or Golden Beach, one of the best on the remote Kirpasa peninsula, and indeed the island.
4. Lala Mustafa Pasa Camii
Literally and figuratively over-the-top, the facade of the Lala Mustafa Pasa mosque -- once the cathedral of St Nicholas -- is the pride of Famagusta.
3. Avgás Gorge
The narrows of the Avgas Gorge are a natural wonder of the uninhabited Akámas peninsula, and a popular trek-through venue.
2. Áyios Mamás
Ayios Mamas is a small village in the Limassol region of Cyprus. It is located on the southern slopes of the Troodos mountain range in the area famous for its Commandaria wine. The village is built in an amphitheatric layout under Mount Zalaka.
1. Lara Beach
On the northwest flank of the Akamas peninsula, this 15 is one of the least-spoilt beaches in the South, with two separate coves divided by a headland.

Adonis Baths Jungle book edition | Cyprus Adventures
Another Cyprus holiday video !
Adonis Baths located in Kili Paphos, is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in Cyprus. Tradition says that Adonis the God of Beauty tended his horses in this place and hunded in the Akamas forest. According to Greek mythology Adonis and Aphrodite had many children here, the citizen of Paphos are supposed to be descendant of these two lovers. However, Artemis the Goddess of Hunting was jealous of the love between Adonis and Aphrodite and tried to find a way of killing Adonis. She threw a golden almond into the baths to try to attract his attention. Poseidon the God of Sea saw what was about to happen so covered the golden almond with a torrent to prevent Adonis from drowing.Artemis had another plan, she asked Mars the God of War to push the mountain onto Adonis at the baths.
Poseidon stopped the rocks moving towards the back of the river and Adonis was saved again. Adonis was not so lucky whilst hunting one day. A man distinguised as wild boar fatally wounded him. He returned to the baths but died in the arms of Aphrodite. Aphrodite could not bear to lose her belover Adonis and begged for him to send back to earth every six months, each Autum it dis believed.Popular tradition connects Adonis Baths with the legendary visit of Digenis Akritas. The Story says that he put one foot on each side of the River Mavrokolymbos and trank water from the baths. Until this day there is a place called Digenis feet.

Cyprus VLOG 03 / Cape Greco and Ayia napa
Eastern Cyprus has always been acknowledged as having the best beaches, the most inviting waters. Cape Greco offers one of the best views on Cyprus. We spend 4 days in Ayia Napa and visiting it was definitely the highlight of the trip. There are many caves along the coastline from Ayia Napa to Cape Greko National Park. Many people come here to snorkel and the locals come here before the crack of dawn to fish.

More videos of Cyprus:
Paphos (Greek: Pafos) is a coastal city in the southwest of Cyprus and the capital of Paphos District. The town of Paphos is included in the official UNESCO list of cultural and natural treasures of the world's heritage.
The remains of villas, palaces, theatres, fortresses and tombs of the Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods mean that the site is of exceptional architectural and historic value.
Archaeologists report that the site of Paphos has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. It was a centre of the cult of Aphrodite and of pre-Hellenic fertility deities. Aphrodite's mythical birthplace was on this island, where her temple was erected by the Myceneans in the 12th century BC.
New Paphos (Nea Pafos), the currently inhabited town, lays about 12 km northwest of the old city Paphos, which now is the archaeological site of Palaepaphos, Kouklia.
The economy of Paphos depends largely on tourism and there are four resorts in the district: Kato Paphos, Coral Bay, Latchi, and Aphrodite Hills. The largest by far is Kato Paphos which employs over half of Paphos' population. Farming, especially banana, grape and tobacco cultivation, also contributes significantly to the economy of Paphos.
Paphos enjoys a subtropical-Mediterranean climate, with the mildest temperatures on the island. The greatest amounts of precipitation mainly occur from mid-November to March. It almost never rains in the summer. In July and August, humidity measurements can go up to 85%.
------------------------
Paphos Castle was originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour. It was then rebuilt by the Lusignans in the thirteenth century after being destroyed in the earthquake of 1222. In 1570 it was dismantled by the Venetians. After capturing the island, the Ottomans restored and strengthened it. Throughout the ages it has seen many uses. It has served as a fortress, a prison and even a warehouse for salt during the British occupation of the island. More recently the castle serves as a backdrop to the annual open air Paphos cultural festival which takes place in September.

Beautiful CYPRUS, Κύπρος
Beautiful CYPRUS
όμορφη Κύπρος, the Greek pearl of the Mediterranean.
Cyprus, at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa, is situated in the north-eastern corner of the Mediterranean Sea, It is the third largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and Sardinia.
Significant historical personalities such as Alexander the Great and Cleopatra have connected their names with Cyprus. Aphrodite, the beauty and love Goddess, was born in Cyprus and her name identifies with that of the Island (Kyprida).

music of Anna Vissi (who was born at Cyprus): Ola ta lefta, from her hit record Kravgi
Here are the lyrics of the song:
Me koitazeis me duo matia pou anavoune foties,
you look at me with two eyes that spit fire
Ti kardia mou ti ktipane keravnoi kai astrapes,
my heart is struck by thunder and lightnings
Ola ta lefta moro mou, ola ta lefta
I would give anything my baby, I would give anything
Gia ta duo matia pou mou piran ta muala,
for the two eyes that took away my mind
Ola ta lefta moro mou, ola ta lefta
I would give anything my baby, I would give anything
Gia duo matia dolofonika,
for two killer eyes
Gia duo matia dolofonika,
for two killer eyes.
