La Virginia Resort Lipa Batangas | OdettePM VLOG#32
Our family just came back from this resort, spent our holy week vacation for 3 days and 2 nights- March 30 to April 1, 2018. Family of 7 adults & 2 kids. Here are my feed backs:
Pros:
- accessible, distance from Manila around 2 hours drive from our area.
- price for room is quite reasonable, range from Php 3,000 to 5,000 on regular units
- several pools to choose from. ideal for kids
- life size character statues, good for photo ops
- province type ambiance with trees and plants all over the place
- guests can bring food and drinks
- public rest rooms, grilling stations and sink available
- bunk beds and double beds available
- vicinity maps on sites for reference
- with playground, convenience store (not sure if 24/7), snack bars selling BBQ, chips & more
- restaurant- food price reasonable, taste okay. Recommending lumpiang shanghai
- pool area until 9pm, can be rented privately
- AC units good, hot water on shower working well
- zipline, archery and wall climbing activities
Cons:
- reservations chaos. we reserved for 2 nights, 3 days but they booked us for 2 days, 1 night. so need to transfer all our stuff from their hotel unit to Ifugao cottage.
- no shuttle service available inside the resort, have very steep up and down roads. not ideal for senior citizen and people that easily gets tired or with asthma.
- resort have limited staff. did not ANTICIPATE the volume of guests and guest's requests on long weekends. we checked in at 2pm but our room was released after 3pm. Hotel guests were lining up outside the units waiting for 1 housekeeper to clean about 5 rooms.. (worst!)
- staff not attentive to guest's needs. tons of follow up if you request for something
- tight space inside the cottages. they squeezed-in the beds to fit.
- bathroom awful. tiles and faucets not well maintained.
- tv signal weak, better to turn off
- NO INTERNET, even no phone signal on some areas
- no fridge on Ifugao cottage (which is more pricey than their hotel rooms)
- no electric kettle on hotel rooms
- most door lock not working
- the Ifugao room mezzanine was not connected on the main room. you need to pass back stairs to get there. I cannot get the logic??? So if you are staying in the mezzanine and you forgot something, pass by the outer stairs... :(
- Pool area, no sign of life guard on duty.. keep eye always on your kids!!
- strong chlorine smell on the pool in the morning
- since its a public pools, expect spits, dirt etc...
- facilities like pavilions and common areas not well maintained
Over all, yes, we had to make our vacation worth while and enjoyable. But definitely not a place that we can visit over and over again. (first and last)...
