Thousands of devotees do their penance and station of the cross prayers while climbing up to the top of Mt. Maculot where the Grotto is. But most climbers visit Mt. Devotees and climbers may also bring a tent to Mt. Maculot and stay there overnight. During holy week there will be actually no problem with food because there are stalls sells food and water on the way to the top and also at the top of the Mountain. If you are a first time climber you may buy a 2meter stick to have something to hold while climbing, locals are selling a stick there for 5-10peso. No alcoholic drinks and deadly weapons is allowed to keep the place safe for everyone. But be aware because some people have already beaten by a snake there and always be aware of your own safety, climbing and most especially going down is not always easy and can be dangerous too.

I was invited by Eco Hotel Philippines for their Bloggers Day event where they took a group of us around their Batangas and Tagaytay properties. They run a chain of green service hotels that apply green principles to its structure and practices in order to minimize its impact on the environment. Their websites states that As one of the top eco-friendly hotels in the Philippines, we set a benchmark for our establishments through a series of concrete environmental initiatives. Our practices go beyond ensuring the lights are off when not in use. We apply waste reduction practices wherever and whenever possible. We also have a recycling program integrated throughout the hotels. We reduce carbon emissions and energy use with low-energy generators and highly efficient cooling systems.
With sustainable practices a critical shortcoming in most of the local tourism industry in the Philippines, I decided it would be good to see if and how they lived up to their word while also delivering a compelling experience for guests.

Road Trip to Bolinao, Pangasinan Philippines - the conclusion
This video is about the second part of our recent trip to beautiful Bolinao, Pangasinan.
Adventures of Gerald and Rhia travel to this wonderful province full of lush greenery, white sand beaches as well as lovely and hospitable people.
My recent trip to Bolinao was with my office work colleagues who made the trip to Bolinao so much fun.
You can rent a vehicle of course like we did, but it is also fun to commute there. Just be sure you wake up early and allot travel time on your trip.
There are 3 major bus line companies which travels to Bolinao, Pangasinan. Namely, these are (1) Victory Liner from the Cubao Q.C. terminal, (2) FiveStar Bus Inc. form the Pasay City terminal, and (3) Dagupan Bus Line from the Cubao Q.C. terminal. They offer day and night trips and you can book on ordinary (no air-con) or air-conditioned bus.
One-way fare cost: PHP 500 or less for air-conditioned bus and PHP 400 or less for nonair-con bus.
Travel time: 5 to 6 hours and has three stops prior to reaching Bolinao, namely Dau, Tarlac, and Alaminos. Make sure to bring some snacks to ease bus weariness.
Bolinao is a town on the west coast of Luzon Island, in the northern Philippines. The Spanish colonial St. James the Great Parish Church dates from the 1600s, and has an exterior made of black coral stones. The University of the Philippines' Bolinao Marine Laboratory supports the conservation of giant clams and other sea life. Atop Punta Piedra Point, the 1903 Cape Bolinao Lighthouse overlooks white-sand Patar Beach.
If you are looking for a place to visit before summer ends, Bolinao is a must to visit.
