20 Things to do in Kraków, Poland Travel Guide video transcript:
We kicked off this trip to Poland with a visit to Krakow, a city people have been telling us to visit for years and now we know why. Krakow in the summertime was wonderful! We spent our time enjoying castle views from the river side, exploring neighbourhoods covered in street art, eating some of the best pierogie of our lives, and also discovering what we think may be the best ice cream. The following is our travel guide to some of the best things to do in Krakow!
Wawel Castle is Krakow's crowning jewel, and for centuries it was the residence of the kings of Poland. You can see a mix of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture all in one place.
While in the city, we also had to walk the Royal Route, which was once the historic coronation path of Polish kings.
After visiting the basilica, we spent a bit of time walking the Main Square, which just so happens to be Europe's largest medieval town square.
And that’s it for our visit to Krakow! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around the city. If you have any other places to add to this list or any tips for fellow travellers visiting Krakow feel free to share those.
This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture, Polish cuisine while visiting Kraków Polska.

10 Things to do in Gdańsk, Poland Travel Guide
Join us as we visit Gdańsk, Poland in this travel guide exploring the top attractions and best things to do in Gdansk (Danzig). As the final and northernmost destination we visit during our time in Poland this port city is one of the coolest places we've visited on this particular trip through Europe. From cobbled streets to posh museums to river cruises you'll find something for everyone here. One thing we noticed was that it was considerably more expensive in terms of accommodations and food compared with other Polish cities we've visited; however, it has charms that more than make up for it.

Gdańsk alternate spellings (German: Danzig - Latin: Gedania)
Our visit Gdańsk travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting castles, churches and museums. 10 Things to do in Gdańsk, Poland Travel Guide script:
After visiting the Basilica, we walked over to the main pedestrian street in Gdansk: Dluga, also known as Long Street. Unlike most Polish cities, Gdansk doesn’t have a main square, but this stretch of road acts as the equivalent with lots of vendors and performers along the way.
On the west end of Dluga (Dooga) we came across the Amber Museum, which sounded a little unusual, so we bought tickets and went up. Here we learned the history of Amber trade in the Baltic, and we also discovered that the tower that now houses the museum, was once a prison and torture chamber.
Not done with museums just yet, our next stop was the Historical Museum of the City of Gdansk. I think we spent more time staring at the ornate doorways, ceilings and staircases, than we did at the exhibit itself!
Here, we also saw the Medieval Crane, which was first mentioned in texts in 1367, and was at one point the biggest working crane in the world.
Next, it was all aboard the SS Sołdek, a Polish coal and ore freighter which is now a ship-museum.
And since we’re on the topic of food, we need to show you a milk bar we really enjoyed.
On our last day in Gdansk, we walked over to the European Solidarity Centre, which is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Old Town. The museum tells the story of Solidarity, a Polish trade union and civil resistance movement, founded in 1980 at the Lenin Shipyard. This was the first union not controlled by the communist party, and it’s a fascinating museum to learn a bit more about the history.
And that’s a wrap for our Gdansk travel guide. We hope you guys enjoyed this video and that it gave you a few ideas of things to do in Gdansk on you visit. You know the drill, if you have any other tips or suggestions to share with travellers, feel free to pop those in the comments section below. Happy travels and until next time!

Polish Food - Eating Pierogi taste test in Krakow, Poland
Join us for our favorite Polish food as we eat Pierogi in the form of a taste test (both savory and sweet) in Krakow, Poland.
We found a restaurant called Pierogarnia - Słowiańska Uczta on our first full day in Krakow after shopping for some groceries just across the street. We ended up eating there on a whim and what a pleasant surprise it was. The pierogi served at this restaurant are some of the best we've ever had and we ended up going back several times.
All in all we tried 40 different pierogi for this video including savory and dessert options. It was a feast of feasts.

Polish Food - Eating Pierogi taste test in Krakow, Poland travel food video transcript:
So it is our first day here in Poland in Krakow. In Krakow.
And anyways we've got Pierogi on our minds. We are going to get pierogies. Oh and we're so hungry. We even we're even crossing the river to go find it today. We've been willing to cross a river to go have pierogi. That shows how dedicated we are.
This is awesome. Like this is a gigantic menu just outside of the restaurant here.
So we are kicking off our first full day in Krakow with pierogies. What else?
The most popular Polish dish. This is something that everyone knows about. Even in Canada we've got like frozen pierogi. So it is popular.
They are not nearly as good as the freshly made ones. No. Here in Poland. But yeah. It is something that kind of we are kind of subsisting off of pierogies in the winter in Canada. Yes. When we were in Kingston a few years ago.
It is like a really hearty meal. You know when it is cold out and you just need something that is going to fill you up and sit there for a few hours. Pierogi always a good idea.
But it is summer here but we're still going to have them anyways. We're still having it. Yeah. And actually we had some yesterday at the train station but it was just like a quick little snack and it wasn't amazing.
This place literally specializes in them. This is their menu. And we spotted this place yesterday when we were heading to our apartment so we like we're coming back. We placed four orders.
And each order comes with 10 pierogi so that is 40 pierogies that we're going to be eating for just 2 of us. 20 each!
So 20 plump savory dumplings have showed up at our table.
So we ordered two savory kinds. I think the first one was the Ruskie. Ruskie or something which is the traditional one which is like mashed potatoes and cheese.
And the other one we got fancy. We got like mushrooms, feta and something else. No, wasn't it walnuts or something?
So yeah oh and it comes with like caramelized onions on top. Wow. So let's try this.
We ate 40. We ate 40 pierogi. I feel like we deserve a gold medal in like the gluttony olympics or something.
That was I wonder what the record is?
How many pierogies. Has one person ate. Did we just break a Guinness World Record here?
But that was pretty much the ultimate pierogi taste test. Two savories, two dessert pierogi. I mean if you're going to try Polish food you absolutely have to try pierogi. And we really lucked out with this place. We didn't find it in a guidebook or even a recommendation we just while we were getting groceries last night and we walked by it.
That is going past. Anyways, yeah that maybe they are coming to rescue me because my belly is about to explode.
But anyways yeah I think we'll be coming back here for sure. We've got a whole week ahead of us. We'll be coming back here for pleasure and uh yeah pierogi in Poland guys.
You've got to try it. And price point for this meal?
So it was 56 Zloty which roughly is 13 Euros and that included our two drinks and 40 pierogi.
Yeah, it was pretty good value as well. Now time for a nap. Time for an enormous siesta.

Poland Train Journey from Wrocław to Poznań travel vlog
Come join us for a day of travel as we take the train from Wrocław to Poznań in this travel vlog from Poland. In many ways this was a journey of continuous mistakes as we started off the morning trying to eat breakfast at a place that wasn't open and we ended up almost being late to catch our train. Once inside of the train we quickly realized we probably should have booked a better ticket as we were crammed inside. Upon arriving in Poznan we got super lost as well. Oh, well now that we're here we're happy and ready to explore the city and eat Polish food.

Poland Train Journey from Wrocław to Poznań travel vlog video transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Good morning. It is our final day in Wroclaw and today is a travel day. We're heading to Poznan and we're taking the train.
Yeah, it is the first time that we've actually going to take the train on this particular trip in Europe. Like we've just been taking buses. A lot of Flixbus. And what is it? Flixbus.
What was the one we took last time?
Polskibus. Polskibus.
They are both very budget. Yeah. But it does the job. I'm so bad with names. Yeah. Anyways, we're really excited to take a train again. And that is our preferred method of transportation so yeah. But first we need food. We've already started packing up the apartment. Um but our train departs at noon and there is a really good place downstairs. They do like smoothies, fresh juices and salads. So we're going to go grab a bite and yeah then we'll start traveling.
So when in doubt we always head to the Milk Bar. Nothing else was open. Like we couldn't find any other breakfast. We popped into a little bakery because I guess we are running a little behind. So anyways we finally got our food. Yes. And surprise surprise we are getting pierogi again.
When in Poland. So yeah, now we're just heading back to the apartment.
Time for an update. We're on the platform waiting for our train. It should be coming next. And yeah, it'll be nice to travel by train. Also, I guess we should update you on our travel plans.
We left Budapest like maybe 2 weeks ago and we were like yeah we're going to make our way to the Baltics and travel north but then we got to Poland and we've really been enjoying it so we decided to actually extend our travels here. Yeah. And we've already gone to Krakow and Wroclaw and we've got like 3 or 4 more destinations. Yeah, Poznan and then Gdansk and then maybe one more.
So yeah, it is just one of those situations where we've just really liked it in Poland but also too we had a really really busy schedule for a while.
And you know what? It is so affordable in Poland. It is. That is another reason. Yeah, that is another reason too and yeah it has just been great. We've been on our own schedule now for a while and we've been really enjoying that.
Made it. Hello from the train station. Made it. Made it. It was a very short journey. But it was a sardine session. Oh my gosh. Yes.
It was one of those compartments with 8 people. 8 people plus luggage. And barely enough room to fit our luggage. We are lucky that none of the other passengers on that trip had big bags like us. Yeah. Otherwise, we wouldn't have fit. I don't know what would have happened.
Anyways, I like taking the train but that was not comfortable. Like I didn't even have room for my feet to stretch out or anything. My one foot. The lady had a bag.
So what is our first meal in Poznan?
Mexican.
But anyways let's do an apartment tour. The world's fastest room tour. Kitchen. So we have a nice big kitchen. Come check this out. And if we move into here I'll show you the bathroom. It is massive. There is a tub.
And then just over here we have our bedroom. I really like the bedroom. As you can see we haven't even unpacked.
We'll have food videos and hopefully a city guide coming for you soon.

Szentendre Travel Vlog | Day Trip From Budapest, Hungary
Come join us as we take a day trip from Budapest, Hungary to visit the quaint village of Szentendre. This riverside town in Pest county (named after Saint Andrew) is only a 30 minute train ride away from the centre of Budapest and makes for a fantastic getaway if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by being in the city. With plenty of museums, cobbled streets, churches and riverside location the pace slows down for foodies on a quest to just chill out.
We ended up wandering around and eating most of the day starting off by devouring Langos (Lángos - Hungarian fried dough with various toppings) including ones with cheese and cinnamon. Afterwards we visited a wine cellar museum to cool down before tucking into a big lunch that featured goulash (gulyás) and red wine. We also made time to visit a Marcipan museum featuring enormous marzipan sculptures (some almost 100 kg in size) before finally chilling out by the riverside in a lawn chair waiting to catch our Danube river cruise back to Budapest.
Overall, it was a great little trip and something we'd highly recommend for those with ample time to spare in Budapest, Hungary.

Szentendre Travel Vlog | Day Trip From Budapest, Hungary video transcript:
Well good morning good morning. It is a beautiful Friday here in Budapest so today we're planning a day trip. A day trip. We are going to Szentendre. Or at least that is how we think it is pronounced. It means Saint Andrews. Yeah, and I mean to get there we're going to have to take what a some kind of a metro. Metro. Train. And then I think we're going to be taking a river cruise on the way back. Yes. So today is going to be about exploration and also the transportation too. Let's go.
We have arrived! We've arrived. It was a 30 minute journey.
Alright guys so we have arrived in the center of town and that was a very short walk wasn't it?
Yeah, super short and already our first impressions I think of this place is that it is so cute and that it is so quaint and quiet compared to Budapest.
We researched this one place online that serves langos and it looks like a fried dough. We ordered the variety with sour cream and cheese on top and I also put like garlic sauce and hot sauce. Oh my gosh that is fully loaded.
And on to dessert that did not last long I have to say. The first one. The langos. Yeah, we were pretty hungry so.
So if you can see this here there is tonnes of icing sugar on the side and we did you order the cinnamon one?
So Sam is not the biggest fan of museums and this town has a lot museums but one of them is wine museum. Yeah.
I got goulash (gulyás) of course because when in Hungary. Gagaga-goulash.
Look at my bowl. Let's call it a cauldron.
So we have just entered the Marcipan museum. And I'm used to seeing like small little works of marzipan that are edible but they usually are like small. And right now we're going to see some monster works of art made with marzipan. Wait until you see this.
Mickey Mouse over here. Let's look at him. He weighs 94 kilograms.
So we may have overdone it in the food and wine department. We are stuffed. Yes. So since we've arrived in town we've had that fried dough. The langos. Yeah. We've had lunch. We've had lunch with wine. I had goulash. Yes.
And then we also got. We had a little snack with the marzipan. Oh right, we had that we went to the cafe. Didn't we? We had cake. Now we're having drinks. Anyways, the reason we're kind of chilling right now is we've decided we want to take a river cruise back. And that doesn't go until five. And right now it is 3 pm. We feel we've had a really good walk through the town.

We're at a restaurant called O'Panas (ОПанас) which Sam discovered by chance when he was walking around Taras Shevchenko. I was just jogging in fact. It is located in the middle of a park and also the restaurant is like built around this giant tree. I know. It is so cool. Right now we're on the second floor and the tree trunk is just there.
Yeah. So it is a pretty cool setting. It feels very rustic, very traditional. We actually came here for dinner last night and they had live music playing the accordion. So we were like we need to come back for lunch.
or my appetizer I ordered a mushroom soup. Mushroom soup with dumplings (Грибна юшка з домашніми галушками у хлібній скоринці) and it said it came with bread crusts so I was like alright they'll bring me some bread.
I am having a Ukrainian salad (Закарпатський) here and it is pretty special. It has got um veal and it has goat cheese, it has zucchini and you can see that it has some tomatoes here. I'm just going to like. I see mushrooms as well. Mushrooms oh wow look. That looks so good and it comes in a honey mustard glaze.
Here is what I call a big sexy mug of beer. That is a proper pint. And I'm trying the local one. It is Lvivske 1715 (Львівське 1715). So that one probably comes from Lviv.
I am having a forest berries juice (Напій з лісових ягід).
I ordered cabbage rolls (Голубці з домашньою сметаною) and yeah these come stuffed with rice, beef, pork. Those look good.
This is duck brisket (Вогняна качка) and it appears to be cranberry sauce and then some caramelized oranges. Some caramelized oranges on the bottom.
I'm not going to lie there is probably nothing Ukrainian about this dish. We ordered apple strudel (Штрудель яблучний з морозивом).
So the price of that meal was 770 which was $30 USD Highly recommend this place.
