Natore is a district of Rajshahi Division located in northern Bangladesh. It borders the metropolitan city of Rajshahi, and used to be part of Rajshahi district.
Natore was the District Headquarters of Rajshahi since 1769-1825.[2] Administrative Natore subdivision was established in 1825 under Rajshahi district, on the eve of the shifting of the HQ.
During the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 a direct battle was fought between the Pakistani occupation army and the freedom fighters of Mukti Bahini on 29 March in which about 40 members of the Pakistani army including Major Aslam and Captain Ishaq were killed. On 5 May 1971 Pakistani Army killed 42 employees of North Bengal Sugar Mills (Lalpur) including the then General Manager of the mill, Lieutenant Anwarul Azim; they were killed near a pond in the mill campus. The pond is now known as Shaheed Sagar and there is a memorial beside the pond.

মিনি কক্সবাজার - মৈনট ঘাট । Mini Cox's Bazar - Moinot Ghat
'Moinot Ghat', situated in Kartikpur, Dohar has been hyped as 'Mini Cox's Bazar' for a couple of time. It is one of the most popular spot for a one day trip from Dhaka city. It do stands up to its title 'Mini Cox's Bazar' as the river Padma creates a wave in it's bank which can be related to a sea beach...
Well, quite close to a beach mostly in rainy season, but other than that don't expect so much from this river bank.
How to go: Buses for Moinot Ghat leave from Golapshah Mazar, Gulistan and cost BDT 90. Only 'Jamuna' buses will take you right to the shore and it is a 'Sitting Service'.
Tour Plan: Start at 10 - 11 AM, reach there within 2 PM, have lunch and roam around or take a boat/speedboat/trawler ride for less then 500 TK, enjoy the sunset then come back before 6 PM as the last direct bus trip to Dhaka is at 6 PM.

শুধুমাত্র বর্ষায় এর এই 'কক্সবাজার' রূপটি ফুটে ওঠে। তাই বর্ষায় যাওয়াটাই শ্রেয়।
কীভাবে যাবেনঃ ঢাকার গুলিস্থান থেকে মৈনট এর সরাসরি বাসে করে চলে যাওয়া যায়। ভাড়া হবে ৮০-৯০ টাকা। এছাড়াও কেরানিগঞ্জ থেকে যাওয়া যায় মৈনট ঘাট এ।
