The On The Road series of video's will look at places around Western Australia. As a touring coach driver I get to travel around this great state, and I want to show you a few things of interest.
Darwin International Airport Australia
This the International Airport for state capital of Northern Territory of Australia.
It is a busy airport and here I am waiting for my flight to Alice Springs.
Whilst at the airport I spent my time talking to Aboriginal Australians and they were all flying to a small airport near northern coast.

Darwin is a great town to look around and experience. Its a long drive away from the rest of Australia but well worth the trip for a holiday experience. Plenty of shopping and things to see. All though its a larger city its not so busy that it makes you feel closed in.

From the early pioneers and record breakers through WWII and the Jet Age. Guided tours are run daily. The Australian Aviation Heritage Centre is one of the major aviation museums in Australia. The Centre has an impressive presentation of aircraft and displays depicting the Territorys involvement in aviation, both civil and military, from the early pioneers and record breakers through World War II and the jet age. The major display item is a massive B-52 bomber on permanent loan from the United States Air Force and is one of only two on public display in the world outside the USA. MkVIII Spitfire Replica The Centre is approximately 8 kilometers from the city and was opened in 1990 in a purpose built facility constructed by the Northern Territory Government and is the largest single span building in the Northern Territory.

Darwin is in the far northern part of Australia...Darwin airport is actually an Air Force base, so you will see some military aircraft parked. It has the longest runway in Australia and is (was) the only emergency landing strip in the southern hemisphere for the American space shuttle (So I'm told)
