Australia 2 love è un documentario / reportage che racconta il viaggio di un mese attraverso gli Stati australiani, realizzato da Fabrizio e Silvia, alla scoperta di fauna, flora, grandi spazi, città, parchi, curiosità, storia e cultura del continente down under.
Eccoci a Darwin, dopo aver lasciato il Western Australia, siamo giunti nel Northern Territory, che diversamente dal precedente non è uno Stato federale bensì un Territorio (pur essendo indipendente è controllato direttamente dal governo centrale australiano).
La città è l'unica capitale australiana tropicale, situata nell'estremo nord del suo Territorio, è stata spesso (purtroppo) soggetta a cicloni per via di questa sua posizione geografica. Ciò ne ha segnato in più occasioni la storia e la fisionomia. Da qui inizia l'avventura nel Top End...

In 1954, under the spell of the late Harold Holt’s infectious evangelism for Australia as a land of opportunity, Art Linkletter and some celebrity friends formed a syndicate and prepared to go prospecting in the land where winter was summer and the soldiers wore “wide-brimmed hats turned up on one side”.
There were sure that they would meet kangaroos and koala bears, and perhaps see some stone-age aborigines wandering across the limitless deserts, but beyond this vague trivia, these “babes” knew literally nothing about the “land down under”. Yet, in the spirit of true adventurers, they bravely set out to answer the romantic “call of the wild”.
With dreams of feeding an exploding world population and a chancy scheme for making enormous dividends, they invested in 500,000 acres of rice paddies at Humpty Doo in Australia’s Top End. Roads were built, workers imported, ground leveled and seeded. Two years later their investment lay in ruins. Throngs of wild ducks and thundering herds of water buffalo refused to give up their squatter’s rights, especially when those rights meant “handouts” of fresh Tai rice.
Written with Linkletter’s irrepressible wit and humor, and illustrated by the distinguished Australian cartoonist, Paul Rigby, this is the full story of that “Hollywood Guy Down Under”, and a revealing character sketch of Australia-the land and its people.
Art Linkletter, originator of “House Party” and of “The World of Children”, has been a dominant figure in radio and television broadcasting for 30 years. He is the author of 10 books including such best sellers as Kids say the darndest things, which has been a world classic since 1957. As a developer of vast cattle and sheep ranches in Western Australia, Art Linkletter is introduced in Down Under as a pioneer on a new kind of frontier.
Paul Rigby, a native Australian, is an author, syndicated cartoonist, and caricaturist, popular throughout his own country and England. He joined the Western Australian Newspapers Ltd. In 1949 and has been on the staff of the Daily News (Perth) since 1953. His world assignments have included the United States, Russia, Red China, Europe, and Vietnam.

The UFO capital of Australia: Wycliffe Well
The self proclaimed “#UFO capital of #Australia” lies on Stuart Highway in Northern Territory It’s a tiny settlement called Wycliffe Well where people stop for gas, food and accommodation while on long drives through the Outback.
Wycliffe Well is essentially made up of the alien-themed Wycliffe Well Holiday Park. The brochure of the Park claims that “#UFO sightings are so common, that if you stayed up all night looking, you would be considered unlucky not to see anything, rather than lucky to see something.”

R,T&D Kakadu National Park 2012
Only a few hours from Darwin is Kakadu National Park, one of Australia's most incredible and ancient locations with beautiful landscape, Australia's best examples of indigenous rock art and amazing birdlife and Australian animals. The crocodiles in Yellow Water Billabong are amazing and it is no wonder, almost 250,000 people from all over the world visit there each year. Brunch at the Bark Inn on the way to Kakadu and dinner at the Humpty Doo pub on the way back to Darwin certainly rounds off the experience.
Jumping Crocodiles in Slow Motion
Thanks to in Darwin, Australia. You can feed crocodiles, swim with crocodiles, and get really up close to them. Feeding them using a fishing rod is a really unique experience, as you can see they can jump completely out of the water.
The slow motion gives you really good detail in the crocodiles movement. Something you rarely see. For more information on the Northern Territory - Australia's Outback visit
This was all filmed using a Sony FS700 with a 18-200mm 3.5-5f lens. Shot at 480 frames a second. Best Jobs in the World winner, Allan Dixon, borrowed the camera from Sony to test it's ability to capture slow motion.
