Praza do Obradoiro is main square of the Santiago de Compostela old town, although not placed at the real centre. Plaza del Obradoiro lies to the West of the main façade of the Santiago de Compostela cathedral, and thus the Pórtico da Gloria must be crossed to get into the building from the square.
Plaza del Obradoiro is surrounded by four important buildings, said to represent the four powers of the city: the aforementioned Santiago de Compostela cathedral to the East (the Church), Hostal dos Reis Católicos (the doctors and bourgeoisie) to the North, Pazo de Raxoi (the government; after the Spanish transition to democracy was seat for the President of the Xunta of Galicia, nowadays the city council) to the West and the Colexio de San Xerome (the university) to the South.
Once being crossed by cars, now is mainly pedestrian as the rest of the old town, with only traffic for taxis and (un)loading delivery lorries. The floor is decorated by eight rays starting from the center, where a plaque commemorates the World Heritage Site pilgrims' way of Camiño de Santiago, whose final target is around here.

Près de Palas de Rei, est aujourd'hui en ruines. Il est l'un des meilleurs exemples de l'architecture militaire médiévale de la Galice. Il a été construit vers 1375. Carré, et entouré par un mur de plan irrégulier adaptée au terrain. L'intérieur conserve encore une grange de quatre aires positionné dans la partie sur la paroi extérieure. Il est de plan rectangulaire, avec structure en granite et la balustrade de bois.
11. Monastère de San Pedro de Roches
Seulement d'être creusée dans la roche naturelle. Le paysage, marqué par l'isolement et la solitude, nous conduit à la distance des temps où les ermites et les anachorètes occupée par les trésors cachés de la Ribera Sacra.
10. Pazo de Oca
Près de Santiago et dans la municipalité de A Estrada, l'Oca est un vrai fantasme jardin baroque et l'un des plus beaux et des mieux conservés de maisons de campagne en Galice, dans le dix-HUITIÈME siècle. Le Pazo de Oca est l'un des meilleurs représentants de l'architecture seigneuriale de la Galice dans le dix-HUITIÈME siècle. Situé dans la municipalité de A Estrada, ce palais a ses origines dans une forteresse du xie siècle, reconstruite au XVE siècle.
9. Parc Passe-temps de Betanzos
À l'ancienne reste courte, sa conception et la construction d'appartenir à un autre temps et une autre mentalité, ils avaient besoin de construire des reproductions des merveilles du monde moderne à l'échelle pour les personnes qui ne sont pas susceptibles de se déplacer jamais de le site dans lequel ils sont nés savent peut-être.
8. Fervenza ne Toxa
C'est l'un de la plus haute élévation de l'Espagne et de la plus belle de la Galice, est situé dans les profondeurs d'une belle forêt, avec des pinèdes, carballeiras toujours (forêts de chênes) et d'autres espèces indigènes, telles que la xesta, les locaux disent qu'il y a un noeud dans leurs feuilles, de sorte que la vie va vous permettre de retourner dans le futur.
La cascade elle-même est impressionnante, et est situé à quelques mètres de l'embouchure de la rivière Toxa dans le Deza, qui donne le nom de cette belle région, et qui à son tour va mourir dans le Ulla. L'eau tombe avec tant de force qu'elle forme une sorte de brouillard épais que lorsque s'écraser contre le mur de granit que la quasi-autour de la zone de dépôt de nouveau, donnant la sensation de pleuvoir. Vous devez tenir compte de ce détail, alors que les caméras peuvent souffrir de l'humidité.

Vicino a Palas de Rei, è attualmente in rovina. È uno dei migliori esempi di architettura militare medievale Galizia. E ' stato costruito intorno al 1375. Piazza, circondata da un muro di pianta irregolare adattato al terreno. L'interno conserva ancora un fienile da quattro aires posizionato in parte sulla parete esterna. È a pianta rettangolare, con struttura in granito e balaustra di legno.

Solo per essere scavata nella roccia naturale. Il paesaggio, segnato dall'isolamento e dalla solitudine, ci porta a tempi remoti in cui gli eremiti e anacoreti occupata dai punti nascosti di Ribera Sacra.

8. Fervenza fare Toxa
È uno dei la più alta elevazione della Spagna e la più bella della Galizia, è situato nelle profondità di una bellissima foresta, con pinete, carballeiras sempre (querce) e di altre specie autoctone, come il xesta, la gente del posto dicono che c'è un nodo nella loro foglie in modo che la vita vi permetterà di tornare in futuro.
La cascata di per sé è impressionante, ed è situato a pochi metri dalla foce del fiume Toxa in Deza, che dà il nome a questa splendida regione, e che a sua volta morirà nel Ulla. L'acqua cade con così tanta forza che è una sorta di densa nebbia che quando si infrangono contro il muro di granito che quasi intorno alla zona di rilascio di nuovo, dando la sensazione di piove. Si deve tener conto di questo dettaglio, come le telecamere possono soffrire l'umidità.

Non c'è bisogno di andare in Islanda per godersi le piscine naturali di acqua calda, come Ourense è una terra di acqua termale e minerale,-le acque medicinali, e tra la vasta gamma di tutta la provincia, fondamentalmente queste si distinguono per due motivi: la situazione, il lato della città, ben collegato (c'è anche un trenino turistico che porta a loro) e il bordo del Fiume Miño; anche il prezzo, dato che la maggior parte dei bagni sono libero.

Camino de Santiago 2018 - Day 1 - St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles
Day 1- Our first day on the Camino de Santiago! We are walking the Camino Frances and very excited to be here in Northern Spain/ France. We started our hike in St Jean Pied de Port, France on Sunday April 1st, 2018. On our 1st day we made it to Roncesvalles, Spain. It was a grueling 24.7km hike with an pretty steep elevation gain. We were exhausted when we arrived to Roncesvalles, but it was absolutely worth it. Hope you enjoy our first day's video as much as we enjoyed hiking it.

It thundered overnight with great flashes of lightning and we woke up to howling winds and pouring rain. José put on his cucaracha mac and set off for Melide. The proper albergue there isn´t open till May so they´re using a provisional one, no info re what it´s like. We chose to go to Palas de Rey being only 18kms and, after usual bfast, set off once the rain eased slightly. It is hard to believe from the pics, but it rained in long, heavy squally showers; the cold wind blew wildly at times, occasionally the sun cleared for 2 mins, totally changeable you never knew from one moment to the next. Once it was good enough for us to take photos of our shadows. The walk was easy enough, undulating and by fields of sheep, through woods and mossy, ferny areas, just hard work on the feet as it´s all tarmac underfoot. When we did get a view we spotted the inevitable wind turbines on top of a hill! However, the countryside was pleasant to go through. Note: There is no bar or anywhere to eat or drink along this route! No stopping point.
Finally, suddenly appeared at Palas de Rey town at a T junction. It was a town as any other, with one particularly long street to walk down to get to the albergue. We stopped en route for a pilgrims menu meal at a bar (usually €8) - Mika had Galician octopus, typical of the area. He said it was very good. Pass! Then we wandered round the town to see anything of interest (not much).
The albergue itself is actually a very large building of several floors, tho´ the entrance is small. It has some 8 rooms with a capacity for at least 14 people per room, each room having its own showers. It was a radical change joining up with pilgrims doing the French Route which is very popular. We had hardly met anyone up till now apart from José and had often had the albergues to ourselves. Now there were lots more!
For some unknown reason, the hospitalera decided to bung us all in 1 room. There were 14 of us. Not enough hot water for 14 showers.The headmistress- type hospitalera came into our dorm, throwing the door open and slamming it, shouting and waking those resting after a hard day´s walk, furious that some people had taken the wrong beds and if they didn´t change she´d call security. Such hostility was completely unnecessary and some people went elsewhere to stay the night. There were pilgrims of many different nationalities, some ate food on bags on the floor not knowing where to eat, and they were very confused. Later on during the walk some of us met up again at other albergues and agreed that Palas de Rey was the worst night they´d spent, with that miserable lady in charge.
As for us, Mika and I crept out of the dorm after lights out and crept into an empty room to have a hot shower and sleep. In the middle of the night we were woken by a huge crash of thunder which rocked the building and a downpour which made you think someone left the taps on... the wind howled!
And in the morning (having tip-toed back to our proper dorm), the rules were Everybody OUT by 8 a.m.! Need I say more?
Day 34 Vega del Valcarce to O Cebreiro
Walking from Vega del Valcarce to O Cebreiro on our 34th day on the Camino de Santiago
Today’s climb was rough because it was a climb and cold and wet, but nothing like the other days. I did take the 600 mg of ibuprofen which helped take the edge off.
No great insightful thoughts. More of concentrating on where I put my foot so I didn’t hurt my ankle. Amazing you can focus on that for six hours. Regardless I’m really pleased I pushed through and made the climb. The views are amazing. Most of tomorrow is downhill not sure condition of the paths and whether I can handle it or not is really dependent on that.
Albergue Domar on the Camino, Fisterra, Spain
My Camino de Santiago walk ended in Fisterra, Spain. The Albergue Domar was a great place to stay, every room with a beautiful view. The beaches and the light tower offer a fantastic setting for the Pilgrim to totally relax after their long journey.
