Ein Gästeführer der ersten Stunde
Klaus Boy wurde 1949, im Gründungsjahr der DDR, geboren und hat die Wendezeit in Prora und Binz erlebt. Der Einigungsvertrag und das Ende der DDR bedeuteten auch das Aus der Nationalen Volksarmee und des Hauses der Armee (HdA) in Prora, dessen Leiter er als Zivilangestellter war.
Im Kulturhaus der NVA hatten Arbeitsgemeinschaften ihren Platz, wurden Feste, Lesungen und Shows organisiert und traten namhafte Künstler und Bands auf - wie Karat, Silly, City und die Puhdys oder Musiker aus Ungarn und Polen. Das war mit einem Schlag vorbei. Für den damals 41-Jährigen Klaus Boy hieß es wie für viele andere Frauen und Männer in den neuen Bundesländern, einen kompletten Neuanfang zu wagen. Vorbei seine Zeit, in der er unter anderem als Moderator mit Heinz Quermann auf der HdA-Bühne stand, vorbei die Zeit großer Shows in vollen Sälen. Der studierte Unterstufenlehrer Boy sprang sozusagen ins kalte Wasser und in die Selbstständigkeit als Reiseleiter.

Die Insel Rügen erinnert mit der Kampagne „#25JAHRE“ an jene Zeit vor und nach dem Mauerfall. Wie haben die Menschen auf Rügen, Ummanz und Hiddensee die gesellschaftliche Wende erlebt? Wie war ihr Leben in der DDR – an der unsichtbaren Mauer, die Ostsee hieß? Und wie ging es im neuen, vereinten Deutschland für sie weiter? Rügen hat sie: Menschen mit ihren spannenden Geschichten, authentisch, ehrlich, emotional, überraschend. Jede Woche des neuen Jahres steht für 52 dieser Gesichter, die immer freitags in Kurzfilmen auf Youtube (youtube.com/wirsindinsel), Vimeo und im Blog wirsindinsel.de gezeigt werden: Plattdänzer und Plattschnacker, „Ureinwohner“ und Neurüganer, Sänger, Künstler, Mitgestalter, eine Meisterin, den Wetterfrosch, den Nachbarn und die Nachbarin. Spannende Geschichten die zeigen, wie tief so manche Wurzel in die Rügener Geschichte hinein reicht, was Glück und was Heimat bedeutet und wie sich Zeiten und Menschen ändern, ob Wünsche und Träume wahr wurden oder Hoffnungen sich vielleicht doch nicht erfüllt haben. #25JAHRE ist ein Projekt voller Emotionen, ein Stück bewahrter Zeitgeschichte, ein Teil von Rügen.

Freedom of travel after the fall of the Berlin wall. In 2015, Germany is celebrating its „silver wedding“ anniversary: 25 years of German reunification. With its campaign „#25JAHRE“ the Insel Rügen (Isle of Rugia) is reminiscent of the time before and after the fall of the wall.
How did the people on Rügen, Ummanz and Hiddensee experience the social upheaval? How was their life in the former GDR – behind the invisible wall called Baltic Sea? And what did the FUTURE hold for them in the new reunified country? Rügen found them: those people with their moving stories, which are authentic, genuine, open-hearted, emotional and exciting. Each week of 2015 presents one of the 52 stories that can be seen in short clips on Rügen´s Youtube (youtube.com/wirsindinsel), Vimeo (vimeo.com/inselruegen) on fridays as well as on the Blog wirsindinsel.de and Facebook. The Plattdänzer and Plattschnakker will be introduced as well as the natives and recent settlers. Singers, artists, creators, the weatherman, neighbours - all of them find their place in the campaign. #25JAHRE is a project full of emotions, an expressive piece of contemporary history – a part of Rügen.
