TOP 5 BEACHES TO VISIT IN ZAKYNTHOS, GREECE!
We have selected the top 5 beaches in Zakynthos without including the little, turquoise water bays, hidden between the rocks in the North, because of the absence of beach! Dafni beach, Azzuro beach, Xigia and Gerakas are all real beaches! You can still enjoy the amazing sea, snorkel or just swim in the north, but you have to sit on the rocks or at the tavern on the hills! Here we selected only real beaches :)
Dafni, Xigia, Azzuro and Gerakas were selected but there are many more little beaches that are worth visiting! unfortunately in the south, where there are real beaches, the water is not this turquoise color as it is in the North! Navagio is our top selection exactly because of the color of its water! It is the most beautiful beach in the world if you look at it from the top of the cliffs!

15 Things to do on Santorini, Greece Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Σαντορίνη / Θήρα Ελλάδα):
We got our first glimpse of Santorini aboard the ferry and it was immediately apparent why this place has been linked to the Lost City of Atlantis.
What was once a single island, was destroyed by a massive volcanic eruption, and all that remains today is the caldera rising out of the Aegean Sea.
The first thing that caught our attention were the soaring red cliffs, and atop these, a collection of villages, all painted white.
We imagined we’d spend our week in Santorini just lounging around, but the island lured us out to hike its trails, get lost in its towns, and look back at its history. So with that in mind, in this travel guide we’re going to share with you a few things to do in Santorini on your visit!
The hike from Fira to Oia turned out to be our favourite activity on the island, but we’ll warn you, it took us closer to 5 hours, so go prepared with lots of sunscreen, plenty of water, and a few snacks to sustain you along the way.
Of course, no trip to Santorini would be complete without spending a bit of time in Oia.
Situated on the northern tip of the island and built on the slope of the caldera, this is probably the most picturesque town on the island, and a very popular spot right around sunset.
We had a leisurely ride out to the island and once we docked, we paid an additional 2 Euros and 50 cents per person for admission to Nea Kameni Volcanic Park.
From there we hiked along a gravel path until we reached the top of the crater, where we did a full circuit around the rim.
There were a few spots where we could even see active sulphur vents.
And that’s a wrap for our time in Santorini! We came here thinking we’d do a whole lot of relaxing and not much else, but as it turns out, this is a great island for an active holiday.
Our week in Santorini was spent village hopping, hiking the trails, learning about the island’s history, and feasting on Greek food.
It was the perfect way to end our travels in Greece, and also wrap up our Eurotrip.

In today’s video, we’re taking you to Athens!
Home to gods, goddesses and enough temples to house them all, the Greek capital is the place to get a glimpse of Ancient Greece.
This was our second time visiting the city, but with only 3 days, we decided to focus on the highlights. For us, that meant ancient ruins, lots of greek food, and a lookout point or two to catch the city looking her best right around sunset.
Let’s begin with the main attraction and a place that has dominated the city skyline for millennia: the Acropolis.
Contrary to popular belief, the Acropolis is not one single building, but rather, an ancient citadel which holds a few different structures.
The archaeological site is lined with ancient theatres, altars and temples, and once you reach the top, there are two places that will catch your eye.
The first is the Parthenon, an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Athena.
The other, is the Erechtheum, another temple that was dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon. It’s hard to miss its Porch of the Maidens, with its six draped female figures acting as support columns.
it was just a short walk over to the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
Construction of this temple began in the 6th century BC and it wouldn’t be completed until the reign of Hadrian in the 2nd century AD.
It took about 638 years to build this temple, but it would have been the largest temple in Greece and one of the most impressive constructions of the ancient world.
While in Athens, we also climbed Mount Lycabettus.
This is a rather steep hill that rises 300 meters above sea level, and it’s a nice place to catch sunset over Athens.
As a travel tip: there is a funicular to take you up and down the hill if you want to save your legs!

Zakynthos is the southernmost of the Ionian Islands. In the island of Zakynthos you can find beaches that are more crowded, but also beaches, more quiet. All the beaches of Zakynthos are beautiful, each one in its own way. You only have to look for the ideal beach for you. Sure there is and awaits you!
