Poland is a sovereign country in Central Europe.It is a unitary state divided into 16 administrative subdivisions, covering an area of 312,679 square kilometres (120,726 sq mi) with a mostly temperate climate.
With a population of over 38.5 million people, Poland is the sixth most populous member state of the European Union. Poland's capital and largest city is Warsaw. Other cities include Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk and Szczecin.
Poland's territory extends across several geographical regions, between latitudes 49° and 55° N, and longitudes 14° and 25° E. In the north-west is the Baltic seacoast, which extends from the Bay of Pomerania to the Gulf of Gdańsk.
This coast is marked by several spits, coastal lakes (former bays that have been cut off from the sea), and dunes. The largely straight coastline is indented by the Szczecin Lagoon, the Bay of Puck, and the Vistula Lagoon.
Poland is one of the larger countries in Central Europe. It has a long Baltic Sea coastline and is bordered by Belarus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Russia (the Kaliningrad Oblast exclave), Slovakia, and Ukraine.
With 23 national parks and a number of landscape parks spread all over the country, natural attractions are never too far away. Białowieża National Park, on the Belarus border, is a World Heritage Site as it comprises the last remains of the primeval forest that once covered most of Europe. It's the only place where European bison still live in the wild.
If you're fit and up for adventure, take the dangerous Eagle's Path (Orla Perć) in the Tatra Mountains, where you'll also find Rysy, Poland's highest peak. Pieniński National Park boasts the stunning Dunajec River Gorge and Karkonoski National Park is home to some fabulous waterfalls. The mountainous Bieszczady National Park has great hiking opportunities and lots of wildlife.

Seaport Gdynia
Seaport Gdynia - a commercial seaport on the Gulf of Gdansk, in the province Pomeranian in Gdynia, located on the Kashubian Coast. It is the third largest seaport in Poland.
When in 1918, after 150 years of partitions, Poland regained its independence, its borders did not meet the sea, as in the previous period. It was only under the Treaty of Versailles in 1920 that Poland regained access to the Baltic Sea. The symbol of this was the act of marriage with the sea, which took place in Puck on February 10, 1920. From that moment, the construction of the Polish port began to be considered.
During World War II, the Nazis quickly occupied the port of Gdynia, on September 14, 1939. The town became the base of the German Navy Krigsmarine and at the same time one of the most important armaments centers. The takeover of the port by Germany had its negative consequences. During the allied raids, 40% of hydrotechnical constructions and 25% of port warehouses were damaged. In addition, Germany deported 30% of transhipment facilities. It was also necessary to repair the wharfs and breakwaters, and from the land side repair of the viaducts that had been blown up.

Tehran Persian: تهران – Tehrān is the capital of Iran and Tehran Province. With a population of around 9 million in the city and 16 million in the wider metropolitan area,[3] Tehran is the largest city and urban area of Iran, the second largest city in Western Asia, and the 3rd largest in the Middle East. It is ranked 29th in the world by the population of its metropolitan area.[4]
In the Classical era, part of the present-day city of Tehran was occupied by a Median city which in the Avesta occurs as Rhaga.[5] It was destroyed by the Mongols in the early 13th century, and remains now as a city in Tehran Province, located towards the south end of the modern-day city of Tehran.
Tehran was first chosen as the capital of Iran by Agha Mohammad Khan of the Qajar dynasty in 1796, in order to remain in close reach of Iran's territories in the Caucasus, at that time still part of Iran, and to avoid vying factions of previous Iranian dynasties. The capital has been moved several times throughout the history, and Tehran is the 32nd national capital of Iran.
The city was the seat of Qajars and Pahlavis, the two last imperial dynasties of the country. It is home to many historical monuments, such as the royal complexes of Golestan, Saadabad, and Niavaran, as well as the country's most important governmental buildings of the modern period.
Large scale demolition and rebuilding began in the 1920s, and Tehran has been subject of mass migration of people from all over Iran, since the 20th century.[6]
The most famous landmarks of the city include the Azadi Tower, a memorial built during the Pahlavi period, and the Milad Tower, the world's 17th tallest freestanding structure which was built in 2007. The newly built Tabiat Bridge is considered as the 3rd symbol of the city.[7]
Majority of the people of Tehran are Persian-speaking people who identify themselves as Persians,[8][9] and roughly 99% of the population understand and speak Persian; but there are also populations of other Iranian ethnicities such as Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Lurs, and Kurds who speak Persian as their second language.[10]
Tehran is served by the Mehrabad and Khomeini international airports, a central railway station, the rapid transit rail system of Tehran Metro, as well as trolleybus and BRT systems, and has a huge network of highways.
There have been plans to relocate Iran's capital from Tehran to another area; due mainly to air pollution and the city's exposure to earthquakes.
