Puerto Calero is a town in the municipality of Yaiza on the Spanish island of Lanzarote, it consists of a luxury marina and exclusive villas and apartments, designed by Luis Ibañez. The place is named after the inventor José Calero, who in 1983 had the idea to build a luxury resort. The construction started in 1986 and in 1989 it was opened.
This film features views around the town, beginning at the Hotel Costa Calero, heading down Calle Allegranza for a walk around Puerto Calero Marina, then a walk down Calle Isla Lobos and finally Calle Teide.

Review: Hotel Costa Calero (Jet2Holidays All-Inclusive), Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain - September 2018.
I stayed all-inclusive at the Hotel Costa Calero in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote in September 2018, this was as part of a package holiday with Jet2Holidays, which cost £764 per person, and included return flights from Leeds to Lanzarote, return airport transfers from Lanzarote airport to the hotel, full-board food, all-inclusive drinks until 01:00, which included some premium brands, a full entertainment program, and one free entry into the hotel's Thalasso and Spa. The package holiday price was very good, and much cheaper than booking flights and hotel separately.
The hotel room was very nice and comfortable, although a little dated decor wise. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, and I would have preferred a shower cubicle. The toilet was also poorly positioned up against a wall underneath a hairdryer. Other than those minor negatives the room I was in (255) was very good with a nice balcony and good pool view.
The film includes views of the hotel building, reception, lobby, a detailed room inspection of room 255, extensive views of the hotel grounds and fantastic swimming pools, the Thalasso ans Spa, all of the bars, restaurants, example breakfast buffet, example lunch buffet, example dinner buffet, the entertainment, and a look at one of the newly refurbished Select Junior Suites (room 468).
This is a really great hotel and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for good quality all-inclusive food and drink, friendly staff and brilliant swimming pools.
My biggest gripe about this hotel is that the main restaurant, has a sexist dress code policy for evening meals, requiring men to wear full-length or 3/4 length trousers, where as women can wear whatever the like, including shorts and vests. This outdated and discriminatory rule needs to be scrapped.
With that said I would definitely still consider this hotel again in future.

This most exclusive and established sailing destination bustles with a friendly village-like atmosphere, often hosting celebrated international events . Puerto Calero Marina, on Lanzarote’s warm and sheltered southern coast, welcomes visitors with a scenic waterfront and engaging variety of restaurants and shops and professional technical service provided by the onsite boatyard.
Puerto Calero is only a few kilometres in distance from the bustling resort of Puerto del Carmen, but a world away in style and atmosphere. Home to some of the finest Lanzarote villas and hotels, as well as a good selection of bars and restaurants.
On the South-West coast of Lanzarote, Puerto Calero is only 10 kilometres from Arrecife Airport and 20km from the island's capital. Its geographical location is ideal for a marina being sheltered from the island’s prevalent North-Easterly winds. The neighbouring island of Fuerteventura and the mountain range forming the coast of Punta Gorda also give protection from the strong waves rolling in from the Atlantic and the less common South-Westerly winds.
Puerto Calero did not exist until it was dreamed up by the developer José Calero as an exclusive retreat to provide a luxury marina, residential development and golf course for the island of Lanzarote. In 1983 the company Puerto Calero SA was formed and the dream started to become reality.
Construction of the Marina began in 1986, which also saw the first wave of luxury villas built as well. The planned 200 berths came into operation in 1989. Because of the initial success a decision was made in 1997 to double its capacity. In just two years the work had been completed with 420 Berths for boats of between 8 and 75 metres.
