A Tour of MANCORA: Peru's Best Beach Destination
BIT 17: Visiting the DANGEROUS part of LIMA, and living in the most COLORFUL.
NEW VIDEO!!! Our new look is thanks to the wonderful artist and graphic designer, Camille Bourrier!
This time we head to the MASSIVE capital of Peru- LIMA! Also, fun fact, the place that I was accidentally, prematurely born in.
This is only Part 1.
The places mentioned in this video include:
Huaca Pucllana- Ruins, and restaurant
Barranco- District if Lima we stayed in.
Bajada de los Baños y Puente de los Suspiros.
Punta Callao- Where the Naval Academy is and chill beach.
Playa Hermosa- Beach outside of Lima
Recommended spots to eat:
Isolina- Barranco yumminess- huge plates, get there early or make reservations.
Naed Enrollados- Best wraps EVER, good food after a night out and open late.
La Panka- To eat anticuchos, or beef heart.
Camerino Caffe- I like chocolate but not usually so much, and I can assure you this is the best chocolate cake you will ever have.
Music used in this video:
Wyclef Jean: Kiss the Sky - (Theme song)
Olaya Sound System: Adios Amor
Daniela Darcourt: Invierno Limeño
Lima - the sights of the capital of Peru
Lima, the capital of Peru, lies in the shadow of the Andes on the shores of the Pacific. With about 10 million inhabitants it is also the largest city of Peru.
Lima is the starting point for many visitors for further travel to Cusco and Machu Picchu. From April to November, in the summer season of the northern hemisphere, Lima is below the Garúa, a thick gray high ceiling fog.
The most central and beautiful square of the city is the Plaza Mayor. From there, the city was planned in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro.
The center of Lima is not directly on the coast. At the front of the coast is the district of Miraflores, where you can buy souvenirs and have a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.
What Currency is Used in Peru?
The currency of Peru is the nuevo sol but is shortened just to sol or soles for day-to-day conversations. You can use U.S. dollars at many of the largest shops, but you're probably not going to obtain a very good conversion rate in the process as is common in many other countries.
