Ranthambore National Park 2018
The best park to see Tigers in India
Ranthambore National Park at Sawaimadhopur used to be the Hunting ground for the Maharaja of Jaipur which was converted into a Tiger Reserve in 1973. The nearest airport is Jaipur which is 130 Kilometres.
The park is divided into 10 zones, the best zone is ZONE 3. Zone 3 is the best zone to spot Tiger as it has lakes in it. The best time to spot Tiger in the park is from April to June as it's hot and Tigers come out to drink water and other animals are also there so its pretty easy for them to hunt and drink water.
We had booked the tour online via Rajasthan SSO portal, it's pretty easy just Google Rajasthan SSO, click on the first link which comes, register and pay online. The charges are Rs. 582 per person in a Canter (Open Bus) and around Rs. 980 for Gypsy. We booked the morning slot on 2nd April which is from, 6 AM to 9:30 AM. You need to get the ticket released from the Forest office by reaching 45 minutes in advance or just tell your hotel to do it through a agent. Agent will charge Rs. 100 per person. The Forest officials will come to your hotel to pick you up. I'm not sure if they pick you if your hotel is pretty far. Our hotel was 12.5 kms away from the park, actually all the hotels are on the way to the park. The guides were pretty helpful but rushed immediately after 9:30 AM. You have to very patient to see the Tiger, we almost waited 3 hours and saw it at 9:35. The Tiger was crossing the road, the guide didn't waited even a second after it crossed our path. As per the guide they are fined if they stayed late, I have no fact check on that.
The park has 62 Tigers and other animals like among which we saw the Mighty and beautiful Tiger we were lucky to spot it, many times people take multiple tours but still are not able to see it. We also saw Common Monkeys, Spotted deer, sambar, crocodile, wild board, Peacock and some birds.
It's more difficult and rare to find the leopard as it stays on the mountain as per the guide, the park also has other animals like the bear, hyena, Jackal and many more.
Ranthambore Trip | Indian Vlog #16
DISCLAIMER: This trip wasn't sponsored and neither is this vlog. I just wanted to record my trip and help anyone plan their Ranthambore trip in some way.
Had a lovely trip to Ranthambore with Tara, my cousin sis from Canada ^_^.
We would like to recommend the Ranthambore Vatika Resort in Ranthambore. Its a very women friendly place, while we were staying, other woman travellers were there as well. Would love to come visit this place again ^_^.
