The Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway is a largely volunteer operated heritage railway which operates a partially rack and pinion-operated line across the Furka Pass, between Realp in Uri and Oberwald in Valais. Culminating at 2,160 metres , above sea level, it is an old mountainous section of the Furka Oberalp Bahn that was abandoned after the construction of the Furka Tunnel. It has been gradually brought back into service by the Verein Furka-Bergstrecke with the use of only steam locomotives, with the entire line completed in 2010.:86-7 The Furka Railway is the second highest rail crossing in Europe, after the Bernina Railway. The Trümmelbach Falls in Switzerland are a series of ten glacier-fed waterfalls inside the mountain made accessible by a tunnel-funicular, built 1913, stairs, and illumination. Located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the creek called Trümmelbach alone drains the glacier defiles of Eiger , Mönch , and Jungfrau and carries more than 20,000 tons of boulder detritus per year.Its drainage area is 24 square kilometres , half of it covered by snow and glaciers. The Aare Gorge is a section of the river Aare that carves through a limestone ridge near the town of Meiringen, in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. The gorge is an indirect product of glaciation; 10,000 years ago, just as the Ice Age was coming to an end, torrential runoff water from melting glaciers eroded a deep, narrow chasm through the limestone barrier. Although barely one mile long, this passage is bordered by sheer cliffs up to 165 feet high on either side. The municipality comprises the major Lauterbrunnen Valley , the Soustal, the Sefinental, the upper Lauterbrunnen Valley with Untersteinberg including several glaciers, such as the Tschingelfirn and the Rottalgletscher, many Alpine meadows and peaks, such as Schilthorn, Bietenhorn, Schwarzmönch, and Silberhorn, and finally the villages Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Mürren, Gimmelwald, Stechelberg, and Isenfluh, and several hamlets. The Staubbach Fall is a waterfall in Switzerland, located just west above Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Highlands. The waterfall drops 297 metres from a hanging valley that ends in overhanging cliffs above the Weisse Lütschine.The stream, on reaching the verge of the rocky walls of the valley, forms a cascade so high that it is almost lost in spray before it reaches the level of the valley. The Reichenbach Falls are a waterfall cascade of seven steps on the creek called Rychenbach in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. They drop over a total change of altitude of about 250 metres . At 110 metres , of which the Grand Reichenbach Fall , the upper one, is by far the largest one and one of the higher waterfalls in the Alps and among the forty highest in Switzerland. Andermatt to Furka Drive - Switzerland - Summer

Enjoy a relaxing drive through Switzerland.

We start in Andermatt and end the journey at the Rhone Glacier parking lot on the Furka Pass.

This was filmed in the Summer of August 2016. Such a great time of year for this drive. It was shot with a Gorpro mounted to a BMW 6 series convertible. The weather was perfect for a nice drive with the top down the whole time.

Play this while exercising or just sit back and enjoy the view. It work well for a treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike. I slowed down the footage to make the pace a bit better for exercising.

A truely beautiful drive through the alps, and one of my favorite mountain passes.

This is also the road where the famous scene from Goldfinger was filmed.

The Furka Pass has an elevation of 2,429 m or 7,969 ft.

An amazing scenic trainride through the snow by train in Switzerland from the car free ski village Zermatt to mount Gornergrat. From the Gornergrat there is an spectaculair view over the swiss alps upon mount Matterhorn and the Monta Rosa Massif and the Gorner Glacier. The Matterhorn is also famous because of the TOBLERONE chocolate candybar with the drawing of the mountain Matterhorn in its logo. The narrow gauge tracks of the Gornergratbahn (The Matterhorn Railway) are aroud 9 kilometres long and from Zermatt you’ll pass the stations Findelbach, Riffelalp, Riffelberg and Rotenboden before it will arrive on Gornergrat at 3089m. The Glacier Express can bring you from Chur, Disentis, Andermatt, Brig and Visp to Zermatt in Canton Valais.

The Gelmer Funicular is a funicular railway in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. It links a lower terminus at Handegg, in the Haslital with an upper terminus at the Gelmersee lake.

The Gelmerbahn was the steepest funicular in Switzerland and Europe, until the opening of the new Stoos Funicular in 2017.

A monstrous climb of maximum 106 percent gradient indisputably makes this funicular railway the steepest in Europe. Both the ascent and descent in the open carriages are an adventure by themselves.

The Gelmerbahn funicular takes tourists a vertigo-inducing 6,000 feet above sea level to Lake Gelmer and while the journey might be slow it's not for the faint-hearted.
