Quebec Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Looking for the best things to do in Quebec City? Click play on our travel guide to get an insider’s peek at this Canadian destination.
You don’t need to go all the way to France to say “Bonjour” and nibble on croissants. Quebec maintains strong ties to its French roots, which date back to 1608. In fact, the town’s official language is French and it’s even home to a replica of Norte Dame.
While you’re in town, mosey around the cafes and shops in North America’s oldest retail district, and visit the Musee de la Civilisation. Embark on Quebec City tours around the colonial buildings in Dufferin Terrace, the history at Battlefields Park, and the stunning beauty of Montmorency Falls. From the Saint Lawrence River to Fontaine de Tourny, there are endless attractions to experience in Quebec’s capital city.
When you’re looking to indulge in a little European flair, without leaving North America, explore Quebec City. To further fuel your adventures, check out our travel guide video and pick up more tips and recommendations.

A Visit with Fromager Jérôme Boulestreau
A visit to a cheese shop and ripening cave in Paris with cheese expert (fromager) Jerome Boulestreau and David Lebovitz.
Immersed in beauty and emotion; Paris, the city of love. Celebrating romance and love.
Paris is one one of the most romantic cities in the world. When it comes to romance, no city in the world can compare to Paris. To me, it all boils down to French! French is such a sexy and romantic language. French songs talk about love in their smooth French accents. Breathtaking views, amazing architecture and small Medieval sights adds greatly to the romanticism of the city. Since Paris is the city of love, it tends to be a good and popular location for proposals. There are lots of places, where you can cuddle up with your partner or just sip a glass of wine with a certain degree of refinement. Walking in the streets of Paris, you will find hundreds of places where you will be immersed in beauty and emotion and where you will feel like hugging your beloved, while whispering “I love you”. French are definitely touchy feely. So, in Paris anything goes in terms of Public Display of Affection....romance seems to be part of the everyday culture. Being demonstrative in public is seen as perfectly natural. People kiss and hug when they meet in the street. Friends walk around arm-in-arm or holding hands and couples kiss and caress in the street and I Love Paris!

Père Lachaise is the largest cemetery in Paris and one of the most famous in the world. Many, many famous people are buried here among these grand monuments and mausoleums. Everybody knows Carmen. Here is the man who wrote the music, the famous composer Georges Bizet. Here is the grave of French novelist, Honoré de Balzac. All the French students know him because they have to read his books in high school. His most famous work is La Comédie humaine, The Human Comedy. It is a collection of novels.
Père Lachaise is interesting because it has got a beautiful ambience. After you go to the galleries then you go to the final resting place of some of the great artists. In the cemetery, there are 5,000 trees. It is almost like a park! Not all people who are buried here are French. For instance, Jim Morrison, the singer of The Doors, is American, and he has his grave here because he died in Paris. This winged statue marks the site where Irish playwright Oscar Wilde is buried. As you can see, he has a lot of admirers who come and kiss his grave.
Père Lachaise was the first cemetery in France to have its own crematorium. It was built in the 1880s in Byzantine style. This is Mur des Fédérés, the Communards' Wall. In 1871, 150 people got shot here. Along this same wall are monuments dedicated to those who lost their lives in the Holocaust. For younger people who do not know a lot about the history behind it, it is really good learning. As a teacher, you can talk about the people and what they did and why they are important, and even if you do not know about them, you can make that sort of connection with the French culture. This cemetery is like a labyrinth, so before you get in, make sure you have got a map. I am Cécile, showing you Paris.

Fin 147 boulevard de la Villette

Longueur 1 886 m
Largeur 18 m
