#SfantuGheorghe este o localitate situată la gura de vărsare a celui mai vechi braț al Dunării. Prima consemnare cartografică apare pe atlasul lui Pietro Vesconte din 1313.
În prezent, comuna alcătuită dintr-un singur sat, are o populație de 797 de locuitori, cifră în scădere față de anul 2002, când au fost recensate 971 de persoane.
Creștini pe rit vechi, #haholii din #SfGheorghe țin sărbătorile cu 13 zile după calendarul nou, sau gregorian. Din acest motiv, cea mai importantă sărbătoare a satului va fi celebrată pe 6 mai și nu pe 23 aprilie. Hramul bisericii devine un bun prilej de reunire a familiilor, de reîntoarcere acasă a celor plecați la oraș, când vizitatorul poate constata cât de puternic este sentimentul de colectivitate.
În Sfântu Gheorghe au existat cele mai importante brigăzi de pescuit la #sturion, tot aici obținându-se și mari cantități de #icrenegre ( #caviar ). Toate acestea trezesc astăzi doar amintiri, iar pescarii descriu cu nostalgie momentele în care întindeau sculele la Jolob, la Cut sau uneori până spre #InsulaȘerpilor. Se făcea atunci o distincție netă între pescarii de mare și cei care lucrau pe #Dunăre sau pe lacuri. O altă particularitate interesantă, ar fi că nicio altă localitate din Baltă nu este situată la distanțe mai mari de ghioluri. Până la apariția motoarelor de bărci, pescarii parcurgeau la rame distanțe mari, către lacuri ca Roșu, Roșuleț, Puiu, Erenciuc, #Zătoane sau #Razelm

My recent visit to Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The Arch of Triumph, Romanian Atheneum, “Curtea Veche” (Old Court) Museum, Sfântu Gheorghe Nou (New St. George) Church, Templul Coral Church, old town, Stavropoleos Monastery.
Bucharest (Romanian: Bucureşti) is Romania's capital and largest city, as well as the most important industrial and commercial center of the country. With 2 million inhabitants in the city proper and more than 2.4 million in the urban area, Bucharest is one of the largest cities in Southeastern Europe.
Bucharest is the 6th largest city in the European Union by population within city limits, after London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, and Paris.

Most of the Danube Delta is located in Romania where, over the centuries, the Danube has created a wilderness of water, a labyrinth of tributaries, canals, lagoons, lakes, marshes and lowland forests: a wild, primeval landscape dominated by water. The Danube flows across this natural paradise, almost three thousand kilometres to the Black Sea. Measuring four thousand five hundred square kilometres, the Delta acts as a magnet for migratory birds as it is a junction for six migration routes. Over ninety species of fish live in the Delta including sturgeon that are much sought-after due to their black caviar. The summer months bring tropical temperatures with high humidity and the cold winter steppe climate can take the temperature down to minus twenty five degrees. It is then that everything freezes and the Delta ice becomes up to one metre thick. Located on a huge sand bank, the dunes and forest area of Letea is particularly surprising.as it contains grass and numerous flower varieties. Huge reed islands and dense jungle landscapes alternate with each other and provide a safe habitat for both flora and fauna. It is a world of untamed nature and remarkable transformation. An archaic landscape that is locked within time itself.
