Takatsuki is a city in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. As of 2016, the city had an estimated population of 350,914 and a population density of 3,300 persons per km². The total area is 105.31 km². The city was founded on January 1, 1943, and is almost directly between Kyoto and Osaka. Due to the convenience of being 13–15 minutes from Kyoto and Osaka by train respectively, the city has developed exponentially during the past recent 20 years. It is a commuter town, with people commuting to Kyoto and Osaka.
