Tambunan is the capital of the Tambunan District in the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia. Its population was estimated to be around 2,553 in 2010. Interesting place to visit located in Sabah, East Malaysia. 2hours drive from the Capital City of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. This place is very cold (15 degree Celsius) compare to the city (28 - 33 degree Celsius).

Kokol Hill Kota Kinabalu - The Real Borneo Jungle

Today is our first trip into the Borneo jungle at kokol hill in kota kinabalu.

A lot of people have a idea of what they imagine Borneo to be like and the jungle, well today we will show you.

We started the day by hiring a car for 10 days as this seemed to be the best way to get around sabah at our own leisure instead of paying for taxis or getting buses with all our bags. Hiring a car is very affordable and petrol is so cheap that it was a no brainer.

Our first trip after picking up the car was to drive into the hills and get our very first look of the jungle of Borneo. The views were insane, kokol hill overlooks kota kinabalu and you can even see the islands that you can visit.

If you visit kokol hill you will see many restaurants with a view that you can stop at and get some food or drinks while listening to the sounds of the most diverse jungle in the world. To think that there are orangutans out there somewhere in the wild is amazing.

We have flew the drone many times in amazing places but there is just something amazing about flying it over this jungle and seeing the size of it and just how peaceful it is and how many animals are in there was just mind blowing.

Kokol hill is a great introduction into Borneo Malaysia and 1 that we really enjoyed, its very very relaxing and is the perfect spot to get some amazing photos
