Travel to Kota Kinabalu & Keningau Sabah, Malaysia 沙巴亞庇+根地咬 之旅
Kota Kinabalu is a famous place of tourism because it's nearby the sea, also known as Jesselton previously. Now it's the capital of the state of Sabah, Malaysia.
During the trip, we also visited to the market in Keningau, Sabah. Keningau is situated in the interior division and it is the fifth-largest town in Sabah.
We stopped by Kedai Kopi KTC to eat the famous noodles in Sabah. We also tried the Musang King Durian Popsicle, it's priced at Rm15 for one!
Later on, we walked around Filipino Market, we saw many types of dried seafood there. In Pasar Besar KK (Fish Market Kota Kinabalu), we found a lot of fresh fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters.
Meanwhile in Keningau Market, there are many fresh vegetables and fruits. Local avocados are selling cheap here.

Matanoi Hill - Keningau, Sabah
Matanoi Hill is the new tourist attraction in Keningau. This is the perfect place to have a healthy lifestyle with your family and friends because the trail is not hard. You can capture your beautiful moments on the hill especially with the man made bird nest. The view on top of the hill is quite stunning especially during sunrise and sunset.

Kokol Haven Resort
Nestled on the slopes of Kokol Hill, 800 meters above sea level is this tranquil little hotel known as Kokol Haven Resort. A mere 40 minutes drive from the Kota Kinabalu city center, it's no wonder why this resort is so popular as a weekend respite.
As soon as you step foot at the resort's grounds, you are immediately greeted by the cool mountain breeze which is what makes this hill so popular with city folks. The musical symphony played by the residents of the forests adds to the tranquil serenity at this resort.
The restaurant and rooms at the main resort building boast stunning views of KK city and the islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. When the weather is just right, sunset views from the resort's restaurant can be truly spectacular. Non guests coming to soak in the scenery and the cool ambiance are charged a RM10 entry fee, redeemable for food and beverages at the restaurant.
At another end of the resort is the Rose Villa wing which features rooms with equally stunning views of the Crocker mountain ranges. It is truly a magnificent sight to wake up to the sight of the majestic Mount Kinabalu right from your balcony.
The rooms at this resort are very modern, spacious and well furnished. Room rates seem somewhat pricey but the stunning views and tranquil settings more than makes up for it. A simple buffet breakfast is included with your stay.
For those keen for a little adventure and be rewarded with some spectacular views, hike up the paved road leading up to the nearby communications tower. A jungle trail begins from beside the tower base taking you though lush greenery and several easy climbs. After a brief hike, you'll arrive at several peaks which boast amazing views of the villages at the foot of the hills. Unfortunately on that day the dramatic low lying clouds gave us only brief glimpses of the scenery below.
I was supposed to try out an adrenaline rushing activity for my first time there. Unfortunately the weather wasn't right that morning, so looks I'll have reason to return to Kokol Hill. Thanks to Richard Tan for the guided hike. Look forward to flying with you real soon.
# Update: Richard Tan, the owner and operator of Kokol Paragliding seen in this video sadly passed away on 28 May 2018. Rest in peace bro. I've been meaning to return for the tandem paragliding we had to cancel that day because of the weather... Keep on gliding in heaven Richard.....
