Top best places to visit in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Kota Kinabalu is a city in Malaysia located on the island of Borneo.
Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton, is the capital of the state of Sabah.
The oldest standing structure in town is the Atkinson Clock Tower, a little building with a big history.
The most picturesque landmark is City Mosque, a popular tourist attraction.
“The Floating Mosque” is the second main mosque in Sabah.
The largest one is the State Mosque, its dome and minaret is decorated with real gold.
There are other places of worship like:
Sacred Heart Cathedral, a Roman Catholic church.
And Puh Toh Tze, a Chinese Buddhist Temple.
Or Gurdwara Sahib, a Sikh Temple.
The city doesn’t have many parks but there are some nice green areas.
One of such places, very popular with the locals, is Likas Bay and its long promenade.
There is also Padang Merdeka, a historic field that has seen many events, parades and ceremonies.
The only park in the city center is City Park, a small park located opposite the court complex.
5 minutes walk from there is Gaya Street, also known as Chinatown, the most crowded place in the city.
Outside city center is situated Double Six Monument, a memorial site on the location of a plane crash.
Kota Kinabalu has a large sports infrastructure called Likas Sports Complex, including an Olimpic Stadium, hockey fields and many more.
One of the many reasons why everybody is coming here is the Mount Kinabalu.
Mount Kinabalu is the tallest mountain in Borneo and in Malaysia, lies in the National Park that is listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.
The best view of the city center is from Signal Hill Observatory Tower, a 10 minute uphill walk from the Atkinson Clock Tower or from Jalan Gaya.

1.Floating Mosque.
Start at the stunning Floating Mosque. You will need to take a Grab taxi from town, it isn't quite walking distance. You will need 10RM should you wish to enter the Mosque, this includes the hire of the correct attire.
2. Signal Hill observatory post.
It offers some gorgeous views of the city skyline. Then walk down the steps to the next point...
3. Atkinson clock tower.
One of the oldest building monuments in Kota Kinabalu. If you are there on a Sunday, you could head to Gaya street Market which is in the same location.
4. Harbour Front
Take a 10 minute walk to the Harbour front. You could have a seafood lunch here, plenty of places to eat and drink.
5. Tanjung Aru Beach.
Taxi to Tanjung Aru beach for a memorable sunset. This is the best spot in town and you will see so many people there. If you walk further down the beach away from the market and crowds, you can find quieter spots to hang out and watch the sunset.

The Sabah Museum is the state Museum of Sabah, Malaysia. It is sited on 17 ha of land at Bukit Istana Lama in Kota Kinabalu, the state capital. The complex contains not only the museum proper, but also an ethnobotanic garden, a zoo and a heritage village. The main building also houses the Sabah Art Gallery. Other galleries cover Islamic Civilization, Archaeology and History, Natural History, and Ceramics and Brassware. The mission of the museum is to collect, preserve, conserve and document ethnographic, archaeological, historical, numismatic, art-historical, botanical, zoological and mineralogical collections from throughout the state, and to conduct research on important and interesting aspects of Sabah's history, culture, and social and natural history.

Penjaram: Also known as pinjaram, penyaram or kuih UFO, is a traditional kuih for the Bajau as well for the Bruneian Malay people in Brunei and in the state of Sabah in Malaysia.
Tapai: Tapai and its variants are usually consumed as it is; as a sweet mildly-alcoholic snacks, to accompany tea in the afternoon. The sweet fermented tapai however, are often used as the ingredient in a recipe of certain dishes.
Kou Chung: Also known as Bak Chang or Zongzi is a traditional Chinese food made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo, reed, or other large flat leaves. They are cooked by steaming or boiling.
Cakoi: Also known as Chinese fried churros, Cakoi, Kueh or Kuay, are lightly salted and made so they can be torn lengthwise in two. Cakoi are normally eaten at breakfast as an accompaniment for rice congee, soy milk or regular milk blended with sugar.
Tamparuli Mee: Tamparuli Fried Noodle is freshly handmade so the texture is more “springy” and it has stronger egg aroma. When in Tamparuli., you have to try this dish!

Travel to Kota Kinabalu & Keningau Sabah, Malaysia 沙巴亞庇+根地咬 之旅
Kota Kinabalu is a famous place of tourism because it's nearby the sea, also known as Jesselton previously. Now it's the capital of the state of Sabah, Malaysia.
During the trip, we also visited to the market in Keningau, Sabah. Keningau is situated in the interior division and it is the fifth-largest town in Sabah.
We stopped by Kedai Kopi KTC to eat the famous noodles in Sabah. We also tried the Musang King Durian Popsicle, it's priced at Rm15 for one!
Later on, we walked around Filipino Market, we saw many types of dried seafood there. In Pasar Besar KK (Fish Market Kota Kinabalu), we found a lot of fresh fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters.
Meanwhile in Keningau Market, there are many fresh vegetables and fruits. Local avocados are selling cheap here.

Top 10 Tamu Things
Dongonggon, considered the heart of Penampang, is the place to be every Thursday and Friday for this is when the Tamu (market) takes place. Traders come out in full force to sell their best produce, ranging from fresh vegetables to handicrafts.
The Tamu Penampang is particularly famous for its tapai or lihing (rice wine) and jars of bambangan (a wild mango usually pickled) and tuhau(a ginger-like plant which has been pounded and mixed with lime juice, onion and chillies). Want the truly exotic? Give the sago worms, or butod, a try!

Kuala Penyu Beaches, Sabah | Malaysia
Kuala Penyu in Sabah is famous for her beautiful beaches and surrounding nature. She is one of the entrances to the Survivor Island aka Pulau Tiga. One of the tourist attractions is the Klias River cruise for access to watch proboscis monkeys.
