These are the places in Florida where the cost of living is the lowest; where your salary goes the furthest.
And when if you have the luxury of choosing where to live in the Sunshine State, then the cost of living should play a role in the decision.
The places we name here are among the most affordable places to live in Florida now, but they may not be the absolute cheapest.
Why? Because we did not include places that have high crime rates.
I don’t think you want to try to save money by greatly increasing your chances, or that of your family, of becoming a victim of a violent crime.
The place had to be what most people would consider livable because it has shops, restaurants and maybe even parks so you can enjoy your life.
There are still a few places in Florida that are affordable and safe.

Mount Dora Florida is located in Lake County, Florida. As of 2011, Mount Dora has a population of approx 13,000 people.
Mount Dora Florida was founded in 1880 and today is known for its small-town charm. Downtown Mount Dora has many antique shops and restaurants. Downtown Mount Dora overlooks Lake Dora and is home to one of three freshwater lighthouses in Florida. There are many many monthly festivals in Mount Dora and is known as the Festival City.
The town of Mount Dora began in 1874 when the area was settled by David Simpson.
The community was later named for Dora Ann Drawdy, who was an early settler and in 1883 the town was renamed after the lake Lake Dora.
The town historically was a popular winter retreat for hunters, fishermen, and boaters in 1883.
In the 1920s, Mount Dora grew significantly, in residential development and business establishments. Mount Dora began heavily investing in public works as a result.

Small Shack by Lake Akron at Ellis Acres Reserve
In Lake County by Paisley is this nice wilderness area not real far from Ocala National Forest. I followed one of the trails back to Lake Akron where I found this small shack. I'm not sure what it was for but maybe for camping is one thought. It would be a really nice place if it was fixed up. I went inside and explored around it. I really enjoyed the views by the lake.
