The Terryland Forest Park is an urban forest park in Galway, Ireland. It was launched in January 2000 as the largest such project in Ireland with a plan to involve the citizens of Galway city in planting 500,000 native Irish trees in an area of 120 acres not far from the city centre.

Petworld Furry 5k 2015

The vast majority of us would never think of harming or hindering the welfare of our beloved pets at home, but what about the animals not under our roof? The Furry 5k is a 5km walk for dog owners and their canines taking place across Ireland on August 16th to raise much needed funds for local animal welfare charities.
100% of the funds raised go to the following animal welfare charities:
Laois Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LSPCA)
Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind
Galway Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)
Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue & Adoption (Madra)
Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA)
The event is taking place in the following locations:
Portlaoise
Castlebar
Athlone
Mullingar
Galway (Terryland)
Dublin (Nutgrove)
The walk takes place at 10am and promises to be a morning full of laughter and a fun atmosphere as animal lovers (and their dogs) come together for a great cause. Afterwards, there will be refreshments for both the two and four-legged participants back at Petworld. The walkers get a chance to meet representatives from the charities to see how the money they have raised will be spent.
