Patras - Griechenland, Greece HD Travel Channel
Patras is the third largest city in Greece and the largest city on the Peloponnese.
Patras is a major port and a center of trade and commerce. Even from a distance one can see the Rio--Antirrio bridge crossing the Gulf of Corinth. It connects the town of Rio near Patras on the Peloponnese with the mainland of Greece. The bridge is one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. The five-span four-pylon cable-stayed has a length of 7,388 ft.
The bay is frequently run through by strong winds in this area. The bridge lies in a seismically active area with sandy subsoil. For the construction of the innovative bridge completely new design principles have been applied.
For some time Patras was under the influence of the Venetians, which still can be seen in the cityscape today. In 1820 it was destroyed by an earthquake in large parts. 1821 the Greek struggle for independence flared up in Patras. The Ottomans were forced back to the citadel. After the evacuation, the Ottomans managed to reconquer the city and destroyed it completely.
In the east of the city near the harbor is the Greek Orthodox basilica of Saint Andrew - Agios Andreas. It is the largest church in Greece and one of the largest in Europe with place for 5,500 visitors. The central dome has a heigth of 164 ft.

Libya Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Libya.
Libya is one of the most interesting desert countries and it is gradually opening its doors to the outside world. It is a veritable treasure trove of history. Ancient art and culture of various epochs as well as the fascinating exotic flair of the Orient make Libya a wonderful and fascinating holiday destination. The capital, Tripoli, awakes early in the morning as fishermen return from their nocturnal work at sea along with their catch which is fresh and tasty and ready for market. In antiquity Tripoli was called Oea and was one of the three cities of Tripolitania. Seventy kilometres west of Tripoli and also located on the Mediterranean coast are the remains of the ancient trading town of Sabratha. Its Theatre has been rebuilt and is an impressive structure that dates back to the second century A.D. It was originally built by the Romans who came here after the Phoenicians and gave the city a completely new appearance. It could accommodate up to five thousand onlookers. Just like the country’s former explorers we venture further and further into the desert and spend the night in Kirkiba Camp in circular straw huts at the foot of huge sand dunes. Next day we visit Garma, now in ruins, but whioch around two thousand years ago was the capital of the Garamantes Realm. From the Sahara we travel to the country’s eastern Mediterranean coast and to ancient Cyrenaika, the largest city in today’s Benghazi. Of the historic city of the Pentapolis, the Greek five-city alliance, nothing remains today as it is now covered by modern city buildings. Magnificent history, untouched coastlines and endless desert landscapes with oasis settlements, salt lakes, rock paintings and Berber towns: Libya, a little known land in amazing North Africa.

TRAVEL VLOG || MY ROAD TRIP TO NAFPLIO TOWN PART TWO|| PLACES TO VISIT IN GREECE.
Old Nafplio (or Nafplion) is one of the most beautiful towns in Greece. The former capital of the country may remind visitors of the Plaka in Athens, but it's on the sea. With two mountains crowned by medieval fortresses overlooking the town and the small island fortress called the Bourtzi that once protected the harbor, Nafplio is full of restaurants, shops, cafes, beautiful old buildings, hotels of all catagories and a beach that you can walk to in ten minutes. For people who want to visit an island but don't like boats, Nafplio is a good alternative and just a 2 hour drive from Athens. It is also convenient to the important ancient sites of Myceneae, Epidavros, Nemea, Argos and Corinth. Nafplio has a mild winter (they grow oranges here) and is one of the best places to visit in the off-season.
