Balasore or Baleswar is a city in the state of Odisha. Today Balasore is a growing town, well connected to both Kolkata (298) and Bhubaneswar (214) by road on NH5 and by rail on the Kolkata-Chennai main line. It is a convenient base for visit the serene and calm beach resort of Chandipur, just 16 east of Balasore.

Devkund is a very beautiful religious and tourist place in Odisha. It is located in the district Mayurbhanj. Devkund is famous for its water fall that falls from the top of the hill. Devkund means the bathtub of Gods and Goddesses. So this place is very important for Hindu culture peoples, as they believe that it the bathing place of their Gods and Goddess, so by touching this water they get blessings of their god and goddess.
Devkund is situated at 60 km from the main town of Baripada and 85 km from Balasore district. Devkund is going through in Udala division. It is a natural beauty of Odisha and Similipal National park is near it.

A small temple dedicated to Maa Ambika is also present on the top of the hill. This temple is known as Shakti Pitha. The temple is built by the king of Mayurbhanj in the year of 1940. This small temple is increase the beauty of the Devkund.

A tranquil place with its captivating beauty in the lap of nature, Panchalingeswar is 30 km from Balasore. Its name is derived from the five lingams enshrined on a hill top. A place of pilgrimage for its five phallic emblems of Lord Shiva, it also offers a heavenly pleasure in the enchanting beauty of the Devgiri mountain range. A perennial spring here is the main attraction.

MACHHAKANDANA WATERFALL, PODADIHA, MAYURBHANJ (ମାଛକାନ୍ଦଣା)

Machhakandana Waterfall is one of the best waterfalls in MAYURBHANJ district. But it's not come into the notice of Tourism Department or Administration. It's in the Meghasan Forest of Shimilipal Hills. It's near village Manabhanga(ମନଭଙ୍ଗା) near PODADIHA of MAYURBHANJ district. You have to go via Udala if you ever want to go to this beautiful Waterfall. During picnic season tourists come there for picnic and enjoy it's beauty. When tourists come to Shamibriksha they prefer to pay visit to Machhakandana.
Machhakandana consists of two words machha which means fish and kandana means to weep. Fishes come up the river and stop at the reservoir but can't go up due to high and forceful water flow. They weep as they fail. Thus here is the significance of the waterfall. Kushbhadra River rises from the waterfall and join Kala Dam which in the lower area.
