This was our first unplanned trip which turned out to be an amazing decision.
Day 1:
Left for Ujire early morning. Reached the Stream of Joy homestay in the afternoon. It is a lovely place with the stream right opposite to the rooms. You can spend a few hours in the beautiful stream and also use the bamboo raft :)
We visited the Dharmasthala temple and the Shree Rama Kshethra in the evening.
Day 2:
The Sowthadka Shree Mahaganapathi Temple is quite unique as the Ganapathi idol is out in the open field without a ‘Garbha gudi’ and temple structure.
On the way to Moodabidri, we visited the Hosanadu Kodyadka temple of Goddess Annapoorneshwari. It's a very peaceful and serene place.
We stayed at Hotel Pancharathna International (Moodabidri).
Day 3:
We visited the Saavira Kambada Basadi (1000 pillar temple) in Moodabidari. The architecture and the pillars are fascinating, with each pillar having unique intricate carvings.
On the way back to Bangalore, we also visited the Kukke Subramanya Temple.

Charmadi Ghat View Point can be reached from Bangalore via Nelamangala - Hassan - Belur - Kottigehara - Charmadi Ghat View Point.
Total Distance from Bangalore city to Charmadi Ghat view point is 280Kms
Charmadi Ghat (language/Kannada:ಚಾರ್ಮಾಡಿ ಘಾಟ್) is a Ghat in Belthangady and Mudigere taluk of Dakshina Kannada and Chikkamagaluru. It is one of the points in Western ghats through which motorable road passes connecting Dakshina Kannada with Chikkamagaluru district.
Located at a distance of less than 10 kilometers from Dharmasthala, these hills are dense and lush, dotted with mountain streams and waterfalls, offering natural splendor in all its glory especially during monsoon season.
Charmadi Ghat starts from Charmadi village(11 km from Ujire) and ends at Kottigehara(14 km from Mudigere).
Dont forget to try this route if you are planning to travel to coastal Karnataka (Udupi or Mangalore) from Bangalore.
This was part of our 3 days trip to Chikkamagalur and Hassan during 30 Dec 2016.

Tourism in Hassan: Things to do in Sakleshpur - Karnataka Tourism
A city with rich cultural heritage and history, Hassan is a town in the south-western region of the state Karnataka. The tourist places in Hassan offer a plethora of options to travelers - from basking in the spirituality of religious places to exploring finely crafted medieval architecture to gorgeous scenic beauty and more. Hassan attractions include the Hasanamba Temple, after which the city was named, the Shettihalli Church, a church in ruins which is submerged by the backwaters of a river, and Mosale village which is home to two temples with elegant Hoysala architecture. The Gorur Dam, on the Hemavathi River, is another Hassan sightseeing option, while the Bisle Ghat, 90 km from Hassan, offers spectacular views from the hilltop and is a nature lover's dream destination. Hassan is also close to the historical towns of Belur and Halebidu, which have breathtaking architectural sculptures in the Shennakeshava and Hoysaleswara temples, built by the Hoysala dynasty. Shravanabelagola, an important Jain center, has the Bahubali statue, which is a 1000 years old and the tallest monolithic statue.
