Initial romano catolica, devine luterana in urma Reformei.
➤English
The Valea Viilor fortified church is a Lutheran fortified church in Valea Viilor (Wurmloch), Sibiu County, in the Transylvania region of Romania. It was built by the ethnic German Transylvanian Saxon community at a time when the area belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary. Initially Roman Catholic, it became Lutheran following the Reformation.
There is evidence to suggest that an earlier Romanesque church existed in the village, as remnants could formerly be seen beneath the floor of the sacristy.
In 1999, Valea Viilor, together with five other places, was added to the already-listed Biertan to form the villages with fortified churches in Transylvania UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Medias,Transilvania-cetatea fortificata
In acest turn a fost inchis Vlad Tepes in 1476, in urma unui conflict cu Matei Corvin.

Cistercian Abbey, Carta, Romania
The monastery was founded in 1205-1206 by King Andrew II of Hungary, and was disbanded 27 February 1474 by King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary. The Cistercian monastery introduced and helped develop Gothic art in the region.
The first buildings of the monastery were built, according to Cistercian customs, using perishable materials, most probably wood. These can be dated relatively confidently as having been built in the founding period (1205-1206). A few years later, approximately 1210-1215, a stone chapel, the oratorium, was built close to the original wood buildings. The Transylvanian Saxon art historian and archeologist Victor Roth rediscovered the foundations of this chapel of small dimension (around 8-10 m) and massive walls, in the spring of 1927.
The construction of the main stone edifice started a little bit later, most probably between 1220 and 1230. The construction occurred in two stages, separated by the Great Mongol invasion of 1241. In the first stage of construction, the main elements are of Romanesque influence. The general plan was traced and the walls were erected up to a height of about 3-4 m. In 1260 the works were restarted under a new architect trained in the mature Gothic architecture, and with the help of a new masons' workshop. During this period, the old stone oratorium was dismantled and on its foundations was built a part of the north wing of the transept and a part of the choir with the polygonal apse. At around 1300, the church and the east wing of the Cârţa Monastery were already finished and the works on the south side will continue for about two decades.
Cârţa Monastery, currently, is a Lutheran Evangelical church belonging to the local Saxon community.
Biserica fortificată - DÂRJIU - The Fortified Church (Transylvania, Romania)
A székelyderzsi unitárius vártemplom
Dârjiu (Székelyderzs, in Hungarian) is a Szekler village located in the south-eastern part of Transylvania, about 18 km southwest of Odorheiu Secuiesc. The Unitarian Church in Dârjiu is the only Szekler church who is part of the group of seven fortified churches in Transylvania included in 1999 on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the other six churches being Saxon (generally evangelical): Biertan, Prejmer, Viscri, Saschiz, Câlnic and Valea Viilor. The original Catholic church, built in 1270, will be extended in the 14th and 15th centuries. The interior painting dates back to 1419, being renowned the fresco with the legend of Saint king Ladislau. The attacks on it, but also the Protestant Reformation at the beginning of the 16th century, bring important constructive changes, the fortification (walls, bastions, but also the church itself), as well as the transition to the reformed rite. At present, the church has not only an active religious role, but also an important social and traditional social component in the village's life, with the former fortifications storing smoked meat products that are placed and taked being respected old customs. In recent years, the complex has been renovated and some spaces have been set up as an ethnographic museum.

(Ciuc Depression, Lunca de Sus - Ghimeș, Cinod, Transhumance)
For the beginning, the video presents a series of rural landscapes in the Ciuc depressions area, crossed by the Olt River and inhabited almost exclusively by Hungarians (Szeklers). Ciucul de Sus (Felcsík - Upper Ciuc) Depression: Tomești (Csíkszenttamás), Cârța (Csíkkarcfalva), Dănești (Csíkdánfalva), Mădăraș (Csíkmadaras) villages; Ciucul de Mijloc (Középcsík - Middle Ciuc) Depression: Frumoasa (Csíkszépvíz), Livezi (Lóvész), Cioboteni (Csobotfalva), Hosasău (Hosszúaszó) villages; Ciucul de Jos (Alcsík - Lower Ciuc) Depression: Potiond (Pottyond), Ciucsângeorgiu (Csíkszentgyörgy), Sâncrăieni (Csíkszentkirály), Sântimbru (Csíkszentimre), Cetățuia (Csatószeg), Lăzărești (Lázárfalva) villages. The trip continues over the Nascalat Mountains in the upper basin of Trotuș River (Lunca de Sus - Gyimesfelsőlok, Valea Rece - Hidegség), where Csangos represent the predominant population. The video ends with a few photos of the Cinod village (at the sources of Uz River) and others illustrating the transhumance. The pictures are accompanied by brief explanations. All photos are made by me.
