Vila do Bispo Algarve Portugal (HD)
VILA DO BISPO, pertencente ao distrito de Faro, Algarve, situa-se em pleno Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina.
As origens desta cidade remontam ao período de ocupação romana e teve a sua origem numa povoação chamada Santa Maria do Cabo, a qual foi doada, no Sec.XVI, por D.Manuel I ao Bispo de Faro, passando então a chamar-se Vila do Bispo.
Percorrendo as ruas estreitas do centro, ladeadas de casas brancas, podemos ver a Fonte de Vila do Bispo, e, continuando até ao largo principal encontramos a Igreja Matriz de Nossa Srª da Conceição, construída no Sec.XVI, decorada com elementos de estilo barroco e no altar-mor um retábulo de talha dourada.
No concelho de Vila do Bispo estão localizadas algumas das mais belas praias do Algarve, conservadas em pleno estado selvagem, com areias brancas e águas límpidas, que convidam à pratica da actividades desportivas, tais como o surf e o mergulho subaquático.*carl0spais*2013
VILA DO BISPO, belongs to the district of Faro, Algarve, is located in the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina.
The origins of this town date back to the Roman period and had its origins in a village called Santa Maria Cape, which was donated in the 16th Century, by Manuel I to the Bishop of Faro and then named Bishop Vilages (Vila do Bispo).
Walking through the narrow streets of the center, lined with whitewashed houses, we can see the source of Vila do Bispo, and continuing to the main square we find the Church of Nossa Sr ª da Conceição, built in the 16th Century, decorated with Baroque elements and a gilded wood altarpiece altar.
In the municipality of Vila do Bispo are located some of the most beautiful beaches in Algarve, wild preserved, with white sands and clear waters that encourage the practice of sports such as surfing and scuba diving.*carl0spais*2013

Burgau Beach, located in Vila do Bispo, limit of Costa Vicentina, is integrated in a fishing village with houses in the hillside and a colorful and picturesque landscape. Monchique is a spa town. Monchique is the main town of the Serra de Monchique, the mountain range that separates the Algarve from Alentejo and the rest of Portugal to the north. Attractions include a historic town centre, spectacular views from the two peaks of Foia and Picota, hiking, bird watching and biking.

The region of Silves has been inhabited since the Palaeolithic, as attested by archaeological remains, including several menhirs. The river Arade, which was navigable in historical times, linked the hinterland to the open ocean and allowed the transport of produce and commerce. The town of Silves was possibly founded during the times of Roman domination, when the region was part of the Lusitania province.

Not only is Faro the capital city of the Algarve region but also the southernmost city in Portugal. The Ria Formosa lagoon, which is located next to Faro, is a nature reserve and boast with hundreds of different species for birds during the spring and autumn migratory period. Faro also has a beach, which is located about 7km's from the city. The beach consists of a long sandy spit, which can be reached through a bridge.

This cape is the southwesternmost point in Portugal.
The cliffs rise nearly vertically from the Atlantic to a height of 75 meters. The cape is a site of exuberant marine life and a high concentration of birds.
The present lighthouse is 24 metres (79 ft) high and was built over the ruins of a 16th-century Franciscan convent in 1846.
O cabo de São Vicente é um cabo situado no extremo sudoeste de Portugal continental, na freguesia de Sagres, concelho de Vila do Bispo. Fica 4 km a oeste e 3 km a norte da Ponta de Sagres, o antigo Promontorium Sacrum romano, dedicado ao deus Saturno, e onde se situa uma antiga fortaleza visitável (Fortaleza de Sagres).
O farol do Cabo São Vicente ou Farol de D. Fernando, foi mandado erigir por D. Maria II, tendo entrado em funcionamento em Outubro de 1846. Era iluminado a azeite e o carácter da luz era de dois clarões de dois segundos a cada dois minutos de período.
