China ratified The Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage on December 12, 1985. These sites comprise some of the most essential part of China's valuable and rich tourism resources.

The beauty of Heilongjiang is a kind of masculine beauty, you will feel a sense of bold and unconstrained in both winter and summer. Even though it is in summer, the scenery of the small bridge crossing over the flowing water is not the real portrait of her, the nature and the splendid and spacious feeling are her intrinsic character. On the 4,600,000 square kilometers ground, this kind of natural beauty highlights the vast, ancient and mysterious feature of her. The unique climate conditions, the average cool temperature of 20 degrees, the original forest area similar to the Korean Peninsula, more than 1,900 rivers, and more than 1,200 lakes are what make the feature of cool summer and white winter significant in Heilongjiang. Among the ten major tourist attractions there in summer, the countless fascinating legends are hidden in the large wetland and the view of fluttering reed. There are hundreds of birds singing to the sky and thousands of insects whispering constitute a harmonious movement of summer in Longjiang river. The miracle of Wudalianchi, the deep of Lake Jingpo, and the spacious of Xingkai Lake draw a picture of sunset clouds float with the lone wild ducks in the summer of Heilongjiang.

UNESCO Sites in China: Lijaing (丽江) Yunnan
Lìjiāng (丽江) is in the northwest part of Yunnan province, China. The Old Town of Lijiang is designated as a UNESCO Heritage Site. The history of Lijiang dated back more than 800 years. It was once the major cross-road of trade along the old tea horse road between central China and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The old town is well known for houses of traditional architecture, narrow streets connected with waterways and bridges. Due of its tourism popularity, the old town is way over developed. There are nothing but just shops, bars, restaurants and small motels. I was rather disappointed during the April 2009 visit.
