Exploring CHITWAN National Park | Nepal Travel
Chitwan National Park was one of the most incredible places we have EVER visited. Today we went on a Safari through the Jungle in search of some of Nepals rarest animals.
Subscribe
#Chitwan National Park is in the south of #Nepal, about a 5 hour drive from the capital of Kathmandu. Here you can go on #safari to see that native wild life. We were lucky enough to see Rhinos, crocodiles, all kinds of birds and monkeys as we were trekking through the jungle. We also saw the den of a Sloth bear (unrelated to the sloth) and what may or may not of been tiger footprints.
Nepal has been an incredible country to visit. From the hustle and bustle of #Kathmandu, to the serene #Annapurna Eco Village nestled hight in the mountains outside Pokhara. Nepal has got to be one of our favourite countries to #travel. It's got some bustling tourist hubs but you can also feel alone in the mountains.
We have spent the past 3 weeks travelling around Nepal with a company called #Dragoman Overland. They're an incredible overland travel company that have tour packages not just in Nepal but all over the word. We absolutely recommend travelling with them if you're looking for an adventure.

Nepali Newari Food - Extremely Unique Samay Baji in Kathmandu, Nepal!
Newari food is one of the most unique Nepali foods to try in Nepal!
►Subscribe to my channel for more videos:
Before flying into Kathmandu, I can honestly say that I had never even heard of Newari food. I didn't even know what it was when I first arrived, but I began to see signs for Newari restaurants and after doing a bit of research and exploration around Kathmandu, I was able to have my very first plate of a Newari dish known as Samay Baji.
First of all, Newars are the group of Nepali people that are originally from the Kathmandu valley area, they are the local ethnic Kathmandu population. So in reality, Newari food is originally from Kathmandu. Located just a very short distance from the touristy district of Thamel street, is a restaurant that's tucked into a semi abandoned strip mall known as Shree Trishakti Newari Restaurant. I was actually eating at the Chinese Sichuan restaurant upstairs when I noticed this Newari food restaurant, so the next day I decided to drop by for a meal. And what a meal it was!
It was one of those meals that I had no idea what to order, but I wanted to order and eat everything. The vendor suggested that I try the mixed plate, a plate of something called samay baji. And so, it was my very initial time in Nepal to eat a plate of samay baji, a dish so good and so unique that I hope it becomes popular worldwide!
Newari culture, like much of Asia, very much revolves around food and festivals. Rather than breakfast, lunch, and dinner, in Newar culture there are snacks, meals, and feasts - and I think you just eat when you're hungry, choose your type of food - but of course feasts are not an everyday occasion. Newari food utilizes a lot of local spices like turmeric and cumin, combined with fresh vegetables and lots of buffalo meat. The main difference between any other cuisines that I've ever had is the significant use of something known as beaten rice, or in Nepali, baji or chiura.
So what is a samay baji in Newari food? Well she first grabbed a metal plate and then assembled a small pile of beaten rice on the side. From there she added some roasted nuts, chickpeas curry, potato curry, some kind of vegetable curry, and finally a spoonful of buffalo curry. I was so excited to dig in as soon as she delivered my samay baji to the table. It looked and smelled wonderful! How did it taste? The flavors were remarkable, quite spicy, and very heavy on the spices as well. At first I though the beaten rice, which sort of reminded me of uncooked oatmeal, would be hard and dry. But somehow as soon as I would mix it with sauce and other food in my mouth it would quickly become dehydrated and easy to eat. The texture was still a little crunchy, but it was really good. The curries were all brilliant. I highly enjoyed my plate of samay baji and I would eat Newari cuisine again in a heartbeat. If you ever visit Nepal or if you ever have a chance to eat Newari food, you better not miss it, it's an awesome cuisine!

Manaslu Trekking Tour from Kathmandu

Enjoy the sights and sounds of Kathmandu city
Attractive view of Manasalu
See Sama Gumpa & Larkela Pass
Gurung people lifestyle during trip
See the Trade center of tibet
Overview:
Mount Manaslu is located east of the Annapurna range. This trek offers unsurpassed beauty and rich blend of Tibetan and Nepalese culture and true adventure for visitors to Nepal.
Description:
Here you will find the mountains and valleys covered with diverse and pristine eco-systems. Fantastic mountain views, rich culture, and genuine adventure tantalize trekkers as they climb to the base of Mount Manasalu. You will soon understand what inspired Eric Valla to create his world famous documentary, Honey Hunter of Nepal'.
The inhabitants of the upper Budhi Gandaki region are known as the Nuri; their language and dress are quite similar to the neighbouring Tibetans. These local Himalayan people still earn their living through trade with Tibet. The mountain views from Nupri are sensational and crossing the Larke La pass is one of the most beautiful and dramatic of the Himalayas.
Similar to many other trekking routes in Nepal, this trek has many routes to choose from. One option passes through Dudh Pokhari ( a milky lake) that is a common pilgrimage destination for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Another route takes you up to Manaslu Base Camp. While the most popular option is to trek over the Larke La pass to arrive in the Marsyandi valley in the Annapurna region.

7-day trek in the Annapurna region, Nepal (November 1, 2013)
Video from our 7-day trek in the Annapurna region with our guide Khadananda Barakoti (KB) and porter Hari Panday from Nepal Social Treks.
Each day started with big breakfast at 7am, later 4-5 hour trekking with few short breaks, lunch, 2-hour nap, socialising with other trekkers, dinner at 6pm, and then 8pm to bed.
The altitude was not too high (below 3200m) and the trekking was actually easier than we thought (after our experience in Ladakh). Sunny nearly every day, some amazing views near by Poon Hill, great tea houses -- sometimes even with private bathroom and double-bed.
Our trek itinerary:
Day 1
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (about 1:30), trek to Banthanti -- Hotel: Mountain View
Day 2
Trek to Ghorepani (2775m) -- Hotel: Snowland
Day 3
Early wake-up and trek to top of the Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise views of about 12 mountaintops. Trek to Tadapani -- Hotel: Panorama View
Day 4
Trek to Jhinu Danda (1720m), relaxing in the hot spring pools by the river -- Hotel: Ever Green
Day 5
Trek to Tolka -- Hotel: Namaste Lodge
Day 6
Trek to Dhampus (1750m) -- Hotel: Paradise View
Day 7
Trek to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara -- Hotel: Green Tara
The best views are between Ghorepani and Tadapani, pretty much similar to the view from Poon Hill. The first day trek is the hardest (evaluation of about 1360m)!
We would definitely recommend this trek if you want to spend about 5-7 days trekking. It's doable on your own! The above hotels are really good and all of them have hot shower. Double/twin room cost between 400-700 rupees, the food is lot more expensive than bed. You should end-up paying about 2000-2500 rupees per day / person (hotel, food, permits, taxi to the trek). If you go via a touring company then you will end-up paying about 5000-6000 rupees per day / person (all inclusive price -- porter and a guide).
Anyways, amazing trekking, lots of greenery, great views and amazing Nepalese people.

Its an amazing hotel. Every details were thought even hot water battles in bed, they put when we are at dinner. Rooms are really big and very good designed.
It was my birthday and they made a cake for breakfast, and they gave me a small present.
The stuff is so kind, very helpfull always smiling. Facilities are amazing. We enjoyed the cooking class. And to watch the sunset and sunrise is amazing experiences.
I likes the very detailed and well thought out decor. Beautiful concept! Amazing service
Minuses
Amazing nature and loved walking through the trees, but sometimes we got a little lost and we were late for the meditation session. It would be better to have more clear signs with arrows and even more telephone call points on the way if necessary. Once we found staff they were super helpful to show us the way and would even take us there.
