Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, Hawaii
Sailing and Paddling at beautiful Ala Wai Yacht Harbor with the backdrop of Diamond Head and Waikiki. A beautiful sunset from the end of Ala Wai Harbor at Magic Island with SUP and surfers experiencing life like a dream of paradise.
Ala Wai Yacht Harbor is the largest yacht harbor in the state of Hawaii. Located at the mouth of the Ala Wai Canal, between world famous Waikiki and Honolulu, the Capital of Hawai'i.
The TransPac sailing race begins in California and ends at Diamond Head Point with the harbor being the home port, an event that takes place every two years. It is one of the world's longest-running ocean races.
Many Waikiki hotels are in the area, but the Waikiki Prince Hotel and the Hilton Hawaiian Village are essentially adjacent to the property, and the Ilikai Hotel is built on harbor land.
Ala Wai Harbor is home to the Waikiki Yacht Club and the Hawaii Yacht Club, which host junior sailing clubs, weekly sailing races, and fishing tournaments.
Boats from around the world find shelter in state harbor berths, yacht club berths, and fuel dock berths. The Ala Wai Harbor can accommodate vessels up to 85 feet in length.
Ala Wai Yacht Harbor has been the background for many movies and TV shows such as Hawaii Five-O, Lost and Magnum P.I., and was the scene of the Minnow leaving port for a three hour tour on Gilligan's Island. Elvis Presley filmed scenes for his second Hawaii film Girls, Girls, Girls at Ala Wai Yacht Harbor.
Waikiki Hawaii polluted Ala Wai yacht harbor fish
look closely. what do you see? yea, the picture gets better after a sec. No, that's not a fish coming home from the tater farm. No, I didn't put on a lil scuba outfit on the poor bugger.
Ah, the Ala Wai yacht harbor in beautiful Waikiki. The repository of human waste and Waikiki Sewage lovingly and thoughtfully handed to us for our enjoyment by our fearless City leaders. Yes, folks, we can now witness tumor laden fish coursing their way through the dirtiest filthiest water that reeks and glows in any third world country. On any given day in our loverly Waikiki waterways. Swimming among the filth and sewage, this is no ordinary fish Itaught to wear an aqualung. Huu uh! It's a direct result of contact with this wonderful aquatic creation courtesy of the local Hawaii state, city, county government..., along with the fairly immediate (3 days) death promised to any person fortunate enuff to fall into the Ala Wai boat harbor water. This beautiful tourist attraction can be found just makai of the world famous Ilikai and the ChartHouse restaurant.

HONOLULU- The State’s monthly test of the Statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System, coordinated with the test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System, is scheduled for MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2018 at 11:45 a.m.
The warning sirens are used to alert the public to emergencies. During this monthly test, all warning sirens will sound a one-minute Attention Alert Signal (Steady Tone). There will be no exercise or drill accompanying the test.
The Attention Alert Signal informs residents to turn on a radio or television for information and instruction for an impending emergency, or if in a coastal inundation area, evacuate to higher ground.
The outdoor warning sirens are one part of a three-component emergency notification system. A simultaneous test of the Emergency Alert System is conducted with the siren system, in cooperation with Hawaii’s broadcast industry. In the event of a real emergency, warning sirens and Emergency Alert Broadcasts would be joined by alerts via the Wireless Emergency Alert system, which delivers sound-and-text warnings to mobile telephones and compatible devices.

Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Oahu Island, Hawaii
Recorded: May 2019
The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Empire of Japan on December 7, 1941, was the immediate cause of the United States' entry into World War II.
Pearl Harbor marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors and Marines killed on USS Arizona during the Japanese surprise attack and commemorates the events of that day.
The memorial, built in 1962, has been visited by more than two million people annually. Accessible only by boat, it straddles the sunken hull of the battleship without touching it.
Oil leaking from the sunken battleship can still be seen rising from the wreckage to the water's surface. This oil is sometimes referred to as the tears of the Arizona or black tears.

We MOVED harbors - We've got a lot to learn! (Liveaboards in Hawaii)
This month we moved harbors. This was the first time we moved our boat into a real slip all by ourselves. It was a nerve racking adventure, and sadly we lost all our GoPro footage (still learning). We moved from Ala Wai harbor in the heart of Honolulu, walking distance to Waikiki to Keehi, which is out of the tourist area. Hope you enjoy the video, even though we didn't get any footage of us docking, We were pretty disappointed.

ALOHA TOWER
Located on the Honolulu Harbor in Downtown Honolulu, about 15 minutes west of Waikiki, Aloha Tower is an iconic symbol of Hawai‘i. Aloha Tower is the most recognized building in the state of Hawai‘i, second only to Diamond Head as its most famous landmark.
Built in September of 1926, Aloha Tower was the tallest building in the islands for four decades, offering spectacular views of the harbor and housing an observatory and lookout station for harbor pilots. Its lighthouse served as a navigation landmark that could be seen from 15 miles at sea, while its clock was one of the largest in the United States. The tower stood as a welcoming beacon for visitors when travel to O‘ahu was done entirely by sea, serving as Honolulu’s “Statue of Liberty.” Duke Kahanamoku even set his first swimming world record at Pier 7, and the wharf was also known for Boat Days, a lively celebration to welcome the arrival of visiting ships.
For a period of time during World War II, the U.S. military took control of the tower, painting it in brown and green camouflage and shutting off its beacon to minimize detection. Patrols by Army sentries didn’t end until the camouflage was sandblasted off in 1947; the Aloha Tower reopened in 1948 in its original glory as one solid color.

Ala Moana Beach Park Honolulu Hawaii
Ala Moana Beach Park Honolulu Hawaii
Ala Moana Beach Park is a free public park on the island of Oahu, U.S. state of Hawaii, located between Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. This 100-acre (0.40 km2) park has a wide gold-sand beach that is over a half-mile (800 m) long. It is man-made and was created by the owner of the Dillingham Dredging Company, who was looking for a place to dispose of his dredged earth. So in the 1950s, sand was dumped at this park, which created the beach.
The water is almost always calm because the beach is protected by an outer reef. This makes it a good spot for long-distance swimmers and small children. There is a 25-foot-deep (7.6 m) swimming channel and a former boat channel that was dredged out of the reef.
